Greetings!
Because of your generosity and continued support, Cincinnati Parks Foundation was able to accomplish many great things in 2018 and we are organized to do even more in 2019!
Over the next couple of years, we’ll focus our fundraising efforts on neighborhood parks, including Inwood, Fairview, Bellevue to Burnet Woods and Mt. Storm in Uptown, to Mt. Airy Forest on the Westside, to Laurel Park in Downtown, and Hyde Park Square on the Eastside. We will continue to be devoted stewards to each of YOUR 130 Cincinnati Parks & greenspaces, with a special focus on the 8 parks listed above.
Lots of New Year Resolutions will take place within your Cincinnati Parks in 2019. It’s amazing what a brisk walk in the woods will do for your mind, body and soul.
Wishing you and your loved ones many moments of happiness this year.
With sincere gratitude,
Jennifer Hafner Spieser

We are thrilled to share an update on the
the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Garden at Eden Park. With a generous $25,000 gift from an anonymous donor in 2018, a garden is in the process of being created. As you can see from the photos below, it's so exciting to watch the progress being made.
The planting beds have started with perennials, grass & mulch. In the second photo, you can see the addition of boulders and concrete walks. Once completed, the garden will create a serene space for quiet contemplation. The garden is expected to be completed soon and will flourish in the Spring. Be sure to stop by and have a quiet moment of remembrance.

We are so grateful for these two very special volunteers. They continually step up and go above and beyond in raising crucial funds for YOUR Cincinnati Parks. They have volunteered and supported the annual
Hats Off Luncheon
in so many ways over the years.
This is their third year co-chairing the Sponsorship Committee for the Hats Off Luncheon, which involves diligently leading and working to once again raise critical funds for Cincinnati Parks. Proceeds from the Hats Off Luncheon are used wherever they benefit the parks system most, from capital projects to underwriting general operating support for Cincinnati Parks Foundation.

Liz Knuppel is the President & CEO of
Skystone Partners
which focuses on Fundraising & Development. She is a member of
The Women's Committee of Smale Riverfront Park
and is extremely active in the Cincinnati community. She loves the Hats Off Luncheon because every year there is a new team of chairs who make the event fabulous, special, unique and memorable.
"The Parks make our community so much more livable, and they are a great equalizer. They bring our community together like no other resource can. When people play together or enjoy a concert or program together, when they laugh together, we understand one another as humans better. We connect and learn about each other. The Parks connect us with nature and each other, which builds the fabric of our community. I am proud to help support our Cincinnati Parks to bring our community together."
Liz can make just about any houseplant grow, and her office is filled will orchids that re-bloom every year. In the evenings, she and her six year old son, Wyatt, can be found out in the garden.

Rosemary Schlachter is a Cincinnati native and has not missed a single Hats Off Luncheon. She leads 25th Hour, a fundraising firm which counsels numerous nonprofit clients. She is an active community volunteer and has served on multiple Boards in the tri-state area. In addition to being a Women's Committee member, she recently joined the
Board of Directors for the Cincinnati Parks Foundation, and we are so thrilled to have her.
Her favorite Cincinnati Park is
Lytle Park, where her daughter, Abby, was married during the Big Pig Gig. She also holds a very special place in her heart for
Eden Park and
Burnet Woods. Her husband attended the education center in Burnet Woods as a child, learning about nature. Rosemary lives in western Cincinnati with her husband, Mark, and has four children and three grandchildren.
