Dear GPBA Community,
As we begin the new year, we’re reflecting on ethics not as a set of rigid rules, but as a living practice of creating right relationship with our clients, our community, and ourselves. In breathwork, integrity is often felt in the moment, in the heart, and in the choices we make when there isn’t a clear “should.”

Featured Video: A Class in the Ethics of Self Care as a Breathworker

In this short teaching, Jim Morningstar, Ph.D. explores ethics as a practice of right relationship and authentic presence, not perfection.
One line especially stands out: it’s unethical to not take care of yourself.
When we nurture our own well-being, we model what we hope our clients will learn, and we strengthen our capacity to hold space with integrity.

Ethics Reminder + Questions for Supervision
Ethics reminder:
Ethics isn’t only about rules. It’s about creating right relationship with our clients and ourselves. When we care for our own capacity, we strengthen our ability to hold loving presence.
Food for thought:
What helps you stay resourced and authentic with clients? Where do you notice you’re “pushing through” when you might need support yourself?
Have a question you’d like Jim and Jessica to address?
Email your question (and any helpful context) to
