A Message from our Principal

Dear Carver Families,

The last day of the semester is Friday, January 26th. This is a minimum day, dismissal is at 12:55PM. Teachers have had grade checks during advisory.  Please remind your students to work with their teachers for make-ups and a chance to re-take any exams.  We pride ourselves in meeting students where they are and providing them with the extras they need to succeed.  Encourage your student to do their part.  Be on time, be prepared, be engaged in the work during classes, and don’t wait to turn in assignments.

School Site Council:

Carver needs a ninth grade and 10th grade parent to join the School Site Council.  If you are interested, please send an email to laniecia-kobelt@scusd.edu Principal Kobelt.

Great Kindness Challenge Week: January 22-26th This is a global campaign that promotes kindness, social-emotional health, and bullying prevention.

JANUARY

January 26, minimum day, dismissal at 12:55pm

January 29, Campus Beautification

Each advisory group at Carver acts as a steward for a designated portion of the Carver campus. During the first advisory meeting of each month, all advisories join together in a "campus beautification" event! Students clean up litter, sweep, and do whatever they can to make sure their portion of campus is taken care of. This activity not only helps to beautify the campus, but it also gives students a sense of ownership and responsibility for their campus environment.

From the Guild

Hello Carver Families,

On behalf of the Parent Guild, I would like to welcome you and your students to the 2023 –2024 school year! I’m Kristi Wright, the Guild President.

The Parent Guild is a non-profit 501(c)3.  Our goal is to support everyone in the Carver community-- teachers, students, parents, staff-- to thrive.  This can be a yearly stipend for teachers, funding field trips, campus beautification, assist with volunteers and a free Chili Cookoff with student entertainment to connect parents, students and community with each other.

Add us to your list for year end giving. Parents, grandparents, friends, and relatives are all welcome to donate to the Guild on a monthly or annual basis.

Many people share that giving on a regular basis makes them feel connected to the school and their students and gives them a good feeling inside.

Contributions of any size are welcome from $1-$1000+
