Kindness Week

February 10th-13th


Join Jeffco Healthy School's in celebrating kindness the week of February 10th. Engaging in kindness fosters a sense of connection, belonging and overall mental resilience among students and staff. By registering for Kindness Week, your school will receive resources to make this week a success. Resources will include lesson plans to support teachers and staff in building a culture of kindness as well as items to encourage and reward kindness.

School Garden Summit

Join us for the 2025 Jeffco School Garden Summit. This is an opportunity to connect with other gardeners, to learn about what is happening across the district, and to grow our garden community. We will have a panel discussion that includes Jeffco school and community gardeners, opportunities for networking, and breakout sessions led by DUG, CSU Extension, CSU Spur, Slow Food Denver, Adams 14, and Jeffco Facilities. 


Garden leaders, parents, teachers, administrators, or other members of your garden team are welcome to attend. This will be a time to connect, learn and grow together.

Dear Healthy Schools Community,


It is with mixed emotions that I share I have accepted a new position at the Colorado School of Public Health and will be stepping down from my role in Jeffco Schools.


I am incredibly grateful for the past six years working alongside such a passionate and dedicated community. While I will miss working with you, I look forward to staying connected and continuing to support the important work happening in our schools.

Renew Our Schools is a 6-week energy competition for K-12 students, offering inquiry-based lessons to promote energy conservation. Students engage in educational activities, earning points for their school.


Jeffco Facilities will sponsor 5 schools for the competition (Feb 24 – April 4).

2025 America's Healthiest Schools

Apply by April 15th


The 2025 America’s Healthiest Schools application is now open. Since 2007, Action for Healthier Generation's annual recognition program has honored schools for the key role they play in advancing the health and well-being of students, staff, and families. 


Schools have until Tuesday, April 15, 2025 to apply. Check out these top resources to help you with your application:


  • Watch a quick video tour of the application 
  • Attend our live webinar on January 23rd to learn about the award criteria and application process
  • Download the Award Guide to view the application offline
  • If your school has not applied before, the Alliance for a Healthier Generation suggests starting with one or two topic areas out of the 9. You do not need to apply for all nine topic areas to be awarded as one of America’s Healthiest Schools.
