Happy 2022! As I enter my eighth year at CMLS I am amazed at the progress we have made. Eight years ago, I was your only staff member, now you have a passionate team dedicated to supporting you. There was a time when we were only known as an annual conference, now we have weekly MLS Matters, a library of best practices and resources, and Brings It To The Table and CMLX are even more important today. All of these are robust ongoing programs continually evolving to meet your needs. Collectively, with your feedback and leadership, we have made progress in creating and influencing MLS policy that better supports the marketplace.
Do you know what hasn't changed in eight years? CMLS's mission to provide meaningful and intentional member engagement. We strive to bring the MLS community together to learn, inspire, share experiences, provide solutions, and advance the MLS industry. It is in the conference hotel lobby bar (hopefully more soon), in the MLS Matters breakout rooms, a text, or even the good old-fashioned call, where the real magic happens, and I’m so grateful CMLS can help foster those connections.
You have probably heard the saying, "change is the only constant in life" and no doubt that 2022 is going to be an adventurous year of change; one that will require strategic discussions about the evolving role of the Multiple Listing Service and what our future can look like. CMLS will continue to provide a platform for us to come together to have these conversations as we navigate the opportunities and challenges ahead. I encourage you to continue building the connections, community, and confidence that cause positive change and promote the pro-competitive, pro-consumer value of a transparent, efficient, and vibrant real estate market – The Multiple Listing Service.
