Update: Christmas Tree Recycling
Tree recycling is considered vegetation removal and varies for different areas in the county. Generally, the “Christmas Tree Disposal Right at Your Curb” program allows residents in unincorporated parts of the county to leave the tree, after all, decorations are removed, at the curb on regular trash pick-up days. As a rule, trees up to 8 feet long and weighing no more than 50 pounds can be placed at the curb whole. Trees larger than 8 feet should be cut in half. Remember to remove all decorations and lights, including tinsel. Trees collected curbside will be taken to the main campus, where the Solid Waste Authority of Palm Beach County will either use them as fuel in their waste-to-energy facility to create electricity or grind them up for other on-site uses.
More information is available online at SWA.org, including guidelines for cardboard box recycling.
