Low Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP)
Do you have customer accounts in arrears? Are some customers having difficulty paying their utilities or getting caught up?

The website below offers assistance to individual customers to pay accounts in arrears. It’s easy and a win/win! Check out the website, provide the link to your customers and ask questions, but don’t wait -this money needs to be spent or allocated by May 2023! If we help them spend the money, they’ll get more for further assistance in years to come. If you have questions for the Alliance, contact Sherri Winters or David Adkins. We can put you in touch with The Indiana Housing and Community Development Authority for more details.
*The Low-Income Household Water Assistance Program (LIHWAP) is a new program funded in part by the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. LIHWAP is a temporary emergency program designed to help low-income households and families who have fallen behind on their water and wastewater bills.

Additionally, the data from this survey can help influence the amount of grant money and the interest rate for which applicants may qualify.

Farewell to Executive Director Connie Stevens

Connie has been the Alliance Executive Director since early 2012, and prior to that, she spent over 20 years in utility management and another 13 as a Clerk Treasurer. Through her leadership, the Alliance has become an amazing resource and partner to water and wastewater utilities and vendors throughout the great state of Indiana and beyond. Our organization has grown exponentially, we have become a trailblazer in many aspects, our employees have come to be known as the friendliest, most helpful around, and in many cases, we're the first place our industry peers turn to when they need assistance. We thank Connie for guiding our organization to much success and for her many years of service and dedication to the Alliance and our industry! She will be greatly missed!

Congratulations Connie Stevens!
