Little Learners Educational Program

Little Learners is Back! This is one of our longest running and most popular programs here at DSAGT. This program is designed for students with Down syndrome between Pre-K and 3rd grade. Students will have the opportunity to work in small groups with peers at their same ability levels and each month, work on their reading and early math skills in addition to their speech and fine motor skills, while also taking into account their individual IEP goals. Meanwhile, our parents will have the chance to connect and learn how to better educate their students and advocate for them in the school system.

The program will meet once a month, beginning February 15th through May 2025 from 9:30am-11:30am at Mainstreet Church (5465 Moline-Martin Rd.).

Teens and Young Adults

OpenSpot Theatre Starts February 10th!

We're so excited to be back partnering with our friends at OpenSpot Theatre. 

For 8-weeks our participants will explore the three pillars of theatre (singing, acting, and dancing), theatre games/activities, and for our younger students, life skills (eye contact, manners, etc). 

Each class is led by trained theatre professional and culminates in a live performance for family and friends at the end of the 8 weeks. The process of learning about the theatre and rehearsing a live show promotes teamwork, cooperation, belonging, work ethic, memory, leadership, social skills and maybe most importantly; it’s fun!

Join us on Thursday, January 23rd for a winter movie night! We'll have some light snacks during the movie for our teens and young adults and during the film, parents will have the opportunity to mingle and socialize! 

The movie will start at 5:30pm and end approximately around 7pm. 

Join us for an afternoon sensory-friendly performance of Moon Mouse: A Space Odyssey on Sunday, March 2nd at 2pm at the beautiful Valentine Theatre!

We do ask that only individuals with Down syndrome and their parents/guardians register for this event. DSAGT will have a limited amount of tickets for the show. Please Register by February 1st!

Join us on Thursday, March 13th at Foodology, where participants will learn to make homemade chicken tenders, mac n cheese, and monster cookies! The class begins at 4:0pm and will end at 7:30pm.
