Hello All,

2020 is in the books.  “It’s a small world” is a song and phrase I have heard all my life.  This past year I learned how true it is.    I took for granted so many things. It has opened up my eyes to how dependent we are on others.  Whether it is family and friends or countries that supply products that enrich our lives.   The article below allowed me to see a one day snapshot of Marine Traffic.   You may be thinking what is he talking about?  Open the link and look at the map, the colors represent large ships, oil tankers, cargo vessels, fishing ships, cruise ships, etc.

Your copy should address 3 key questions: Who am I writing for? (Audience) Why should they I have been seeing articles about how container rates have increased from $1500 - $2000  to the current prices of $6000 - $8000. On one truckload of feed ingredients that is a 13 ½ cent increase per pound.  Just considering ADM’s and Adisseo’s December announcements, I would think we are just beginning to see what is to come on price increases.

On December 11th, Feed Strategy wrote the article below. It is my opinion this may be a conservative estimate.

Methionine continues to be on allocation, by contract or previous use volumes. Lysine, especially totes have been difficult to source.
What I wrote last month continues to hold true.

“The great rebuying of America” Imports for many items are at record levels. While Covid 19 continues to decimate the service and hospitality industries in United States, other Americans are flush with extra cash. This segment of people is buying up products like never before. Cars, Trucks, ATVs, Appliances, Furniture, Homes, etc. Low interest rates are making this easier for them too. Long/short our dollar is becoming devaluated.

The last couple of years of historically low Amino Acid prices are likely nearing the end.

Best reads last month:
The first article highlights ADM's announcement that they will be exiting the dry lysine market.

In the second article Evonik makes its case on why DL-Methionine is a better choice than MHA.
