- The North State Building Industry Association reports that January was a another encouraging month for new home sales. President and CEO Michael Strech said, "This January 200 more new home sales were completed than the same month last year. Our members are excited to use this momentum to have a successful 2020."
Aren Bazzocco, Chair of the North State BIA Board said, "January was the highest individual sales month in the last decade, and even more encouraging is the high visitor numbers. More than 16,000 homebuyers visited new home communities in January and with nearly 170 communities open around the Sacramento area, they have plenty to choose from.”
Mr. Strech agreed stating, "When we see the number of communities increasing we know builder confidence is high. That, coupled with the growing visitors to model homes, is making right now an exciting time to be a homebuyer or a builder." Strech continued, "This is a positive start to the year, however, we hope that the region's leaders will continue to make housing a priority and remain focused on the goal to build the needed number of homes in the Sacramento Region. This is a positive step in the right direction, but we still have so much more to do."
A total of 628 new homes were sold during the month of January. The sales were reported in 168 subdivisions in the six-county Greater Sacramento region from Marysville and Yuba City in the north to Galt in the south. In addition, 16,261 people visited active new-home communities last month.
