Meet Jason Stanton, New Delaware County
Office of Employment and Training Coordinator

A little about Jason…
Jason is a Delaware County native, born and raised in Margaretville, NY. He has resided in the Town of Bovina for the past 27 years with his wife Lisa and his sons Jack and Alex.

Jason has twenty-five years’ experience coordinating community programs, and more than fifteen years of professional experience with educational and career advising at Hartwick College.

His career has focused on building a community about excellence and character. Jason say his talents of Belief, Developer, Relator, Communication, and Context are strengths that have allowed him to think strategically, build relationships, influence action, and execute follow-through. Communicating the link between where we come from and where we are going has given Jason the ability to help others make wise choices that define who they are and what they want to be.

Friends of Recovery of Delaware and Otsego Counties, Inc., Awarded $500,000 through Appalachian Regional Commission’s INSPIRE Initiative

Rural Recovery Development Opportunities and Career Services (RR-DOCS) will support recovery-to-work and recovery ecosystem efforts in Chenango, Delaware, and Otsego Counties of New York by preparing the recovery workforce, expand employment opportunities for the recovery workforce, and offering ongoing Recovery Support Services.

“I congratulate FOR-DO on their INSPIRE award and applaud their work in helping those in addiction recovery break the barriers to entering the workforce,” said ARC Federal Co-Chair Gayle Manchin. “The substance use disorder crisis isn’t only a health and family issue—it also has severe economic impacts, keeping many Appalachians from participating in the labor force and contributing to the region’s economic growth. With ARC’s INSPIRE initiative, we’re starting to change that. INSPIRE projects focus on creating recovery-friendly work environments, providing supports to both individuals in recovery and their employers, and training individuals to meet the demand in growing professions. When we help individuals in recovery succeed, our communities succeed.”

“We are extremely excited and enthusiastic receiving this money to complete a combined $1,000,000 project with the sole purpose of getting individuals in recovery from SUD into the workforce. This is a big win for the recovery community throughout the three counties and will have a substantial economic impact for many years to come,” said Debra Berrios, FOR-DO’s Executive Director.

New York State Association of Training and Employment Professionals (NYATEP) State of the State Report is here!

About the report: "The State of the Workforce Brief is an annual snapshot, of publicly available data, to inform communities about the dynamics of their regional economy and the workforce impact. For the fourth year, the New York Association of Training & Employment Professionals used readily available data to understand who is working and who isn’t, what sectors and occupations are growing across the State, and the number of potential workers produced by New York’s education and training systems."
