Case Updates
3M Ear Plugs

The 3M litigation has become the largest in the nation with more than 250,000 cases and is still growing. Currently, the first set of trials are underway and are expected to continue throughout 2022. It is expected that four more trials will be completed by February 2022.

To date, there have been nine bellwether trials featuring 11 individual plaintiffs. Seven out of the 11 plaintiffs have been awarded damages while the other four have lost at trial. Millions have been recovered for the plaintiffs in the first several trials.

Moll Law Group's attorneys will be monitoring the upcoming trials closely in order to best serve our clients' interests.

Zantac

On December 2 and 3, 2021 the judge presiding over the Zantac lawsuits held two "science days" to educate the court on the key medical and scientific concepts and facts related to the Zantac litigation.

The first set of trials for Zantac are scheduled to start in 2023. Trials in the MDL in Florida are scheduled to begin in February 2023. To date, there have been no settlements or jury verdicts.

Moll Law Group plans to be involved in the first set of trials and to have one of our cases selected as a bellwether case.

Hernia Mesh
There are thousands of lawsuits against Bard and Ethicon hernia mesh that are consolidated in an MDL class action lawsuit. These lawsuits allege that the mesh has eroded, caused infections, or has required expensive and time-intensive removal surgery or surgeries.

To date, there have been a handful of trials with some success for plaintiffs. Unfortunately, the latest trial came with a blow to plaintiffs as the defendant, C.R. Bard, won with a very short jury deliberation. There is a trial scheduled to take place in early 2022 and Moll Law Group will be watching these trials closely.
CPAP/Philips Respironics
As of late December, there are over 100 CPAP lawsuits filed in the MDL located in Pennsylvania. The MDL is anticipated to have thousands of claims against Philips Respironics. In fact, FDA inspectors found that Philips' employees knew of the potential risks and problems about these products dating back to 2015.

Moll Law Group's attorneys traveled to Pittsburg to take part in the first Status Conference Hearing that took place on December 13-15, 2021, and are committed to maintaining a strong presence in this MDL in the upcoming months.

Necrotizing Enterocolitis
When your baby is born, you want to do right by him or her and provide proper nutrients. Unfortunately, preterm and low weight babies that are given formula based on cow’s milk could suffer a serious gastrointestinal disorder called necrotizing enterocolitis. Their parents may not realize the danger. For example, Joey Koeth, born preterm in 2015 at 29 weeks and weighing about 3.5 pounds was fed Mead Johnson’s Enfamil Premature formula and developed necrotizing enterocolitis even though his heart and brain were normal and healthy at birth. If your baby was harmed by necrotizing enterocolitis (NEC), you should call the Chicago product liability lawyers of Moll Law Group.

In the 1960s, Paraquat entered the market as an herbicide. It’s been used to kill weeds and grasses before planting, to control weeds in orchards, and to dry plants prior to harvest. It can be applied with hand-held sprayers, knapsack sprayers, and pressurized tanks drawn by tractors or trucks. Lawsuits allege that there may be a link between the herbicide Paraquat and Parkinson’s disease. In June 2021, all Paraquat lawsuits filed in federal court were consolidated by the United States Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation (JPMDL) under the Honorable Nancy J. Rosenstengel in the District Court for the Southern District of Illinois. If you were injured by the herbicide Paraquat, you should discuss your situation with the experienced Chicago product liability lawyers of Moll Law Group. Billions have been recovered in cases with which we’ve been involved.
