AC by Marriott at MetWest International, Westshore Village and Tampa International Airport made the list of 83 Degrees' most anticipated development projects in 2017. Read more
McKibbon Hospitality completed construction on Hampton Inn & Suites at Avion Park with a grand opening celebration on December 8. The 178-room hotel features 50 suites, a fitness center, pool, fire pit and more than 2,500 square feet of meeting space. Read more.
Known for its tequila selection, tableside guacamole and lively atmosphere, Rocco's Tacos - co-owned by Rocco Mangel and Big Time Restaurant Group - is slated to open in late 2017 at International Plaza and Bay Street. Read more.
As part of its company expansion, technology services firm Tribridge has relocated its Westshore office to One Urban Centre, more than doubling its office space to 44,557 square feet. Read more.
Grand Scoops Ice Cream Shop is now open at the Grand Hyatt Tampa Bay featuring 12 local, hand-crafted ice cream flavors, specialty floats, sundaes and shakes.
Vision Zero is a national initiative for zero traffic fatalities, and the Hillsborough Metropolitan Planning Organization is leading local efforts along with several partner organizations including the Westshore Alliance. On Wed., Jan. 11, the City of Tampa Transportation and Stormwater Services Department will conduct a public information meeting for the roadway improvement project along O'Brien Street from Cypress Street to Spruce Street. The proposed improvements will widen O'Brien Street to a four-lane roadway with a center two-way left turn lane. Read more.
HART is planning for a business class service to Tampa International Airport from both downtown St. Pete and Tampa. The AirPorter service would cater toward the business community by creating a more luxurious way to get to and from the airport on public transportation. Read more.
Tampa Bay area residents who use public transportation to commute to work may be entitled to a substantial transit tax benefit due to a law that went into effect last January 1. For HART riders, that change in law could translate into approximately $3,000 in annual non-taxable earnings or as an annual fringe benefit that could be offered by employers. Until recently, the maximum benefit for commuters was nearly half that amount. Read more .

Roland Park K-8 Magnet School will hold its annual gala fundraiser, Reach for the Stars Casino Night presented by Lieser Skaff Alexander, on Saturday, Feburary 25. Proceeds from the event will benefit programs and resources at the school, which serves 800 students from Hillsborough County. MORE
