Meet Sabrina
EFNC Intern
After several doctor's visits, dizzy spells and experiencing vertigo, Sabrina was diagnosed with epilepsy in 2009. Though s
he struggled, her strength and determination did not stop her. Sabrina
attended Coelho Camp for four years and
represented Northern California at the Teens Speak Up! conference in Washington D.C.
With
the advancements in medical technology and
her successful brain mapping operation, Sabrina is now
six-months seizure-free.
She says, "I can now swim, sleep and enjoy my days without fear of any unexpected brain storms."
Sabrina is in her second semester of her senior year in Pathways, a program of Tamiscal.
As part of the Pathways program Sabrina has chosen to intern at EFNC to help improve website content, social media outreach, and expand awareness through education and fundraising.
Sabrina enjoys drawing, watching Netflix and playing with her two Rhodesian ridgebacks, Simba and Kiara.
Thank you Sabrina for bringing your vibrant smile and 'go getter' attitude to EFNC!

Apps Offer New Way to Connect
Peer to Peer Support
EFNC's goal is to provide our community with access to creative, innovative and unique ways to connect with others living with epilepsy. Below are two Apps currently in development seeking input and users to help further develop and improve their platforms. Both Apps aim to strengthen and support the epilepsy community. These Apps are free of charge.
Cureous aims to connect people with similar conditions, sub conditions, symptoms and interests together in a safe and secure mobile app environment. Once connected, individuals can share stories, ask questions
and create lifetime health buddies. Cureous shares with you the first version of the app that is
focused on epilepsy. The Developers of this app are seeking participants in its Beta App.

myownteam.org
Myownteam.org creates small groups in WhatsApp to connect you to others like you anytime of day, anywhere.
Meet very similar people who have the same type of seizures, medications, career, family, friends or challenges.
For example: Jessica has tonic seizures. She holds down a high-pressure job as a senior manager which involves a lot of travel. After a seizure she often needs bed rest. She is matched to a group of eight who really understand what she is going through, since they are all in similar senior stressful roles with a lot of travel.
Also in development,
myownteam.org is seeking participants to help improve and build this community.
EFNC does not formally endorse these Apps but we do want to recognize the benefit and support these platforms offer to our community.
As such, we aim to ensure that our community is aware of and has the opportunity to participate with these programs as may be appropriate.
