New Video Series

NHASCD and the New Hampshire DOE are producing a series of video recordings on Educational Best Practices During a Pandemic. Each video features a New Hampshire educator sharing techniques, experiences, and resources. These brief videos will be posted on both the NH DOE and NHASCD website sometime in late January/early February.
2021 Outstanding Leadrship Award
NHASCD is pleased to announce that Dr. Cara Procek has been selected to receive its 2021 Outstanding Educational Leader Award.

Procek has been an educator for over 20 years. Her career has spanned many grades and subjects including positions at the elementary level, middle school language arts reading specialist, high school English, adult education, curriculum administration, and college teaching.

Cara currently serves as Dept. Chair, Graduate Programs/Associate Professor of Elementary Education at Southern New Hampshire University. In 2018/19 she was the co-editor of the New Hampshire Journal of Education and also was a co-advisor to the ASCD Student Chapter at SNHU.

The award will be presented to Cara at the 2021 NH Excellence in Education Awards Ceremony.
NHASCD Board Member Highlights
Julie Couch is the Principal of Gilmanton Elementary School. Prior to her principalship, she was the Assistant Principal at Barnstead Elementary and the Assessment Administrator at the NH Department of Education.
Lucy Canotas is the Director of Elementary Education in the Timberlane Regional School District and is the NHASCD Secretary. In 2015 she received the National Education Association's Teaching Excellence Award.
