On January 11th we will have a Saturday morning Shabbat Service. 10 AM - 12 noon
Come join us for the one morning Shabbat we have on the calendar for the year and see if you want more! In past years, those who participated in the morning Shabbat Service really enjoyed it. The service will be led by Cantor Jill Abramson and the kiddush will be hosted by Jenny, Rick and Zaac Lake. Please register today if you plan to attend.
January 24th Friday night Shabbat Service: 7:30 - 9:30 PM
We hope you will join us for another lovely Shabbat at FPC. The oneg will be hosted by Wendy and Larry Nadel in memory of Wendy's mom's yartzeit. Cantor Abramson will lead the service.
Living & Learning Classes
January schedule
Learn to Read & Chant Basic Shabbat Prayers
Monday January 6th 7:00pm - 8:30

Want to participate in services but feel like you don't know the words or tunes well enough? Whatever your level of comfort or experience, this one-shot session is open to all.

No Hebrew reading experience necessary.

We will learn to pronounce, understand and chant a few basic prayers: the candle blessing, the blessing over bread and the blessing over the wine (the longer version). We'll also go over the  Kaddish --the prayer said for those in mourning or marking a  yahrtzeit-- the anniversary of the death of a loved one.

Recordings will be shared with class participants and will also be posted to web site you can continue to practice, review and have future access to these prayers.

And THANK YOU to everyone who contributed with gifts or funds to the Shir Ami Holiday Gift Drive for Abilis. On Monday, Susan helped Laura from Abilis, load the gifts into her car so she could deliver them to the very happy group home recipients who don't have families to spend Chanukah or Christmas with them. They really appreciated receiving our gifts again this year!
A Message from the Co-Presidents

Shir Ami is front and center in their latest issue! Cantor Abramson was the featured Clergy and Shir Ami was well represented in several other articles. It's worth taking a look at and sharing with others. You might even see yourself in one of the photos.
