Paint Your Own Pottery Night

All child care staff from group and family programs are invited to roll up their sleeves and let their creativity shine at CCR&R's Paint Your Own Pottery night held at Fire Escape! Registration is required, as space is limited.

When: Thursday, January 29, 2026

from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.

(Feel free to join a little later if your program closes at 6)

Where: Fire Escape - 927 Oregon Street, Oshkosh

Cost: $10 

Participants will choose from a wide selection of pottery items like trinkets, bowls, plates, mugs, and more at the special reduced cost of $10, thanks to support from Child Care Resource and Referral! If you spot a larger item you love, no problem—you’re welcome to upgrade and just pay the difference. Please note that you must pick up your item(s) from Fire Escape or have it shipped to you for an additional fee after it has been fired. 

Get Kids Ready

Starting in July 2026, Get Kids Ready will be a new, free program for 4-year-olds in child care to get school readiness instruction at their child care provider (group and family providers). This new program will enhance school readiness instruction in participating child care providers, while state funding will make this program free for families.

Child care providers participating in Get Kids Ready will:

• Use a curriculum that meets the Wisconsin Model Early Learning Standards
• Offer 437 hours of elementary school readiness instruction per year
• Have Lead Teachers with an associate or bachelor’s degree
• Meet state expectations for child health, safety, and well-being.

Children must be 4-years-old by September 1, 2026, to participate in Get Kids Ready.

Interested child care providers will need to submit an Intent to Participate between January 6 - February 1 to participate. The Intent to Participate form will open in early 2026 on DCF's "Get Kids Ready" website page here: https://dcf.wisconsin.gov/getkidsready

Culture Matters: Building Awareness

Culture Matters: Building Awareness in Early Learning

This engaging training helps early childhood professionals explore their own cultural lens and learn how to create inclusive, responsive environments for children and families.

Date: Monday, January 26th, 2026

Time: 6:00-7:30 PM

Location: Oshkosh Public Library, 106 Washington Ave, Oshkosh

Cost: FREE

Registry Credit: 1.5 hours

This training is part of the Bridges to Belonging: Cultural Competency Training Series and is made possible by funds from the Bureau of Refugee Programs “CCR&R” Grant.

CPR/AED Training

Dates for CPR/AED

• Tuesday, January 13th from 6:00-9:00 pm
• Saturday, January 17th from 8:00-11:00 am

Training includes: CPR for Adult, Child and Infant, Use of AED & Emergency Care for Choking. Meets state of Wisconsin license requirements. Training valid for two years. Cost: $25 per person

All trainings are IN PERSON

Play Space Available at CCR&R

Exciting News! CCR&R now has a dedicated, cozy play space - perfect for gathering with fellow parents, hosting a parent group, planning a family bonding activity, gathering with coworkers and their little ones, or just getting out of the house. There is no fee to play!

The play space is open during the following time frames: Monday-Thursday 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 pm*

Friday 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

*The play space will be closed Mondays from 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. for deep cleaning and sanitizing

Calumet County Diaper Drop

The next diaper drop will be January 22nd, 2026 at the Brillion Community Center (120 Center St.) from 3:30-6:00 pm.

Diaper Pre-Registration: While registration is not required, families are encouraged to pre-register to help ensure the right diaper sizes are available. We also have feminine hygiene products and adult sized Depends available.

Child Care Resource & Referral (CCR&R) is a partner of the Kimberly-Clark Eastern Wisconsin Diaper Bank, which makes this monthly distribution possible. No income requirements necessary. You do not need to live in Calumet Co.to be eligible to pick up diapers.

In Case of Inclement Weather:

If the Brillion School District is closed, the diaper drop at the community center will be cancelled and we will provide two packs of diapers at the next monthly drop date.
