No one knows better than you, that life brings changes. Judy Decker spoke of change in her last message to us as our outgoing MASWA President. We all wish Judy well and look forward to continuing to grow our work of providing education and support for all those with the passion to serve our seniors. Yes, I have accepted the baton and also look forward to learning how we together can help each other learn more, do more and accomplish more.
Happy New Year! The MASWA Board had its monthly meeting last week where exuberant discussion was abounding. This year, 2020, will be a year to "Watch MASWA!" We are going to be bringing you valuable educational opportunities along with trying to deliver what you need to help you in your senior serving roles. To that end, upon your arrival at our next membership meeting January 23, you will have an opportunity to participate in a rewarding fact-finding mission. Grab a ballot at the membership table, indicate what you'd like to see this year and drop it in the ballot box. You may win a valuable gift card at the end of the meeting!
Perhaps this poem might shed a good light on us all and help us get off to a great start in this New Year...
"Be someone who listens, and you will be heard.
Be someone who cares, and you will be loved.
Be someone who gives, and you will be blessed.
Be someone who comforts, and you will know peace.
Be someone who lives with joy, with purpose, as your own light brightly shines.
