16 Minnesota Oncology Physicians Named Best Doctors 
for Women by Minnesota Monthly Magazine

Each year the Minnesota Monthly Magazine conducts a survey of 10,000 physicians and medical professionals in the Twin Cities, asking them to nominate the Best Doctors for Women in 40 Specialties. This year, 16 Minnesota Oncology physicians are recognized among the 2014 Best Doctors for Women. Congratulations to these 16 physicians on this recognition from their peers!

Minnesota Oncology's Dr. Amy McNally (formerly Amy Jonson, MD) shares important updates on cervical cancer prevention and detection.

Recognizing 30 Years in Oncology - Dr. Burton Schwartz

As of February 2014, Dr. Burton Schwartz will retire from full-time medical practice, with the exception of his outpatient practice at District One Hospital in Faribault and one day per month supporting Minnesota Oncology's outpatient clinic in Buffalo, MN.

Minnesota Oncology Welcomes New Providers

Dr. Barbara Bowers is now seeing patients at our Edina Clinic. Dr. Bowers comes to Minnesota Oncology from Fairview Southdale Hospital where she practiced for many years. As a well-known medical oncologist specializing in the diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer and those at high risk for developing breast cancer. Stephanie Neitz, PA-C, is at Minnesota Oncology's St. Paul Cancer Center and Maplewood Cancer Center. She will be facilitating our Survivorship Program at these locations. On Sunday, June 1, 2014, Minnesota Oncology will join hundreds of communities worldwide in celebrating life as part of the 27th annual National Cancer Survivors Day´┐Ż. Cancer survivors, caregivers, family members, friends, and healthcare professionals will unite in this symbolic event to show the world that life after a cancer diagnosis can be meaningful, productive, and even inspiring.  in our community who are living with and beyond cancer.

Giving and Receiving at Minnesota Oncology Clinics


For families dealing with cancer treatment, the holiday season can be physically, emotionally and financially stressful. Minnesota Oncology's physicians and staff recognize these challenging realities, and with the assistance of our Social Workers who help to identify families in special need at this time of year, our employees and friends become Santa's assistants, helping holiday wishes come true for patients struggling to make ends meet.

Coon Rapids Clinic Moving to New Location in February


Minnesota Oncology's Coon Rapids Clinic will be moving down the street from its current location to the new Medical Office Building at 11850 Blackfoot St. NW, Suite 100. Our new clinic space will open Monday, Feb. 10. The new building features a skyway to Mercy hospital, a patient drop-off entrance, ample parking, hands-free entrances, extra-wide corridors, elevators, and suite entrances.

Please note: The current Coon Rapids location will be closed the afternoon of Thursday, Feb. 6 and all day on Friday, Feb. 7 for relocation.We look forward to seeing patients starting Feb. 10 at our beautiful new location! AngelGala

Minnesota Oncology is proud to sponsor Angel Foundation's 12th Annual Angel Gala on Saturday, Jan. 25 at the 12th annual Angel Gala at the Hilton Minneapolis.


James Denton (Mike Delfino on "Desperate Housewives") returns as the event's emcee for the 2014 Angel Gala, re-enacting the starring "role" he played for the organization at the record-setting 2013 Angel Gala.
