While 2024 brought unprecedented challenges, it also revealed the extraordinary resilience of MHO and the people of Western North Carolina. In the aftermath of Tropical Storm Helene, our community came together with courage and compassion to navigate the long road to recovery. Despite the hardships, our commitment to providing safe, affordable housing never wavered. Last year, we proudly supported over 2,000 households through affordable rentals, essential home repairs, new home construction, and down payment assistance. Planned Giving Opportunities at MHO

MHO 2025 Development Pipeline

The need for affordable housing in western North Carolina has never been greater. MHO is working to meet this need through the development of new affordable rental communities and new affordable homes for sale, including the preservation of existing affordable rental communities. Currently, MHO has 264 new affordable apartments across three sites and the preservation of 300 existing affordable apartments on seven sites, along with over 120 new affordable homes in development.
