Precast grease trap being lifted

Oldcastle Precast Mansfield, Texas Donates 2,500 Gallon Grease Trap
  • Trap was donated to 'OurCalling,' a local ministry in Dallas, Texas focused on helping homeless people in the Dallas Fort Worth (DFW) area overcome addiction, poverty and life on the streets.
  • The organization is in the process of moving into a new facility, in the heart of downtown Dallas, expanding their services to the homeless with addiction recovery programs, life skills counseling, free daily meals, and basic necessities (shoes, socks, toiletries, etc.), all privately funded and free to those in need.
  • The facility expects to open in the first quarter of 2017.
  • Part of this expansion included a commercial size kitchen that required the massive grease trap (2,500 gallons at 45,000 pounds with the lid).

Giving Back
  • Vietnam veteran Gerry Ziolkowski thought he had hit rock bottom. He took out a loan in 2014 to fix his roof.  But, the job he expected to last two decades started to fall apart after just two years.  Water damage from an incorrectly installed roof caused his dining room ceiling to cave in.  Ziolkowski asked the contractor to fix it, but says he refused.
  • Titan's Remodeling in Buffalo, NY replaced the entire roof free of charge.
  • Allied Building Products, a division of Oldcastle, is the supplier for Titan's Remodeling. When when it heard what they had planned, the company helped out by donating half of the materials for the job.

That's 365 days, 90,520 hours! #safetyfirst #concrete #construction
  • On October 15, 2016, the Oldcastle Precast Perris facility did it, thanks to the outstanding and careful work of each and every one of their team members.
  • In appreciation of their commitment and to recognize this accomplishment, employees and their families spent the day at "Castle Park" Amusement park (yes, that is really the name of the park) and enjoyed a catered lunch.
  • In addition, Oldcastle Precast employees were presented with a T-shirt to commemorate the team's accomplishment.
  • "Every person here, regardless of their job duties, is involved in helping each other work safely and truly believe that every accident is preventable. The support we receive from our executive management as well as our Area safety manager has contributed to this success. We look forward to yet another year of safe work practices and an injury free workplace."
