Dear Friends,
Last week I had the privileged of being at our SSKP Pantries. Every day of the week Food and Fellowship are shared with individuals, families, seniors, and our neighbors through programs of Shoreline Soup Kitchens & Pantries. Thousands of people each week receive food from our programs. In fact, last year SSKP Pantries shared just shy of 2 million pounds of food which is the most ever. Because of generous donations we were able to purchase over $400,000 worth of food that was directly shared with our neighbors. The fresh produce and eggs we purchase most weeks supplements food donations from the community, CTFoodshare, and Gemma Moran Food Bank.
Your support made a difference!
In 2023 over 1.4 million meals worth of food was shared (just under 2 million pounds of food)! That is 200 thousand more pounds of food than 2022. This is only possible because of the generous support of our wider community, volunteers, host sites, and donors.
As we move into this 2024, I hope that the need will decline due to individuals, seniors, and families feeling more secure. And I hope and trust that together we will ensure all have access to food and fellowship even if the need continues to climb.
Your support makes a difference!
With gratitude and hope,
Amy
