January News for Our District Partners

Happy New Year from Texas College Bridge!

In this month’s newsletter, we are providing more information about some of the improvements we have planned for this year, along with a schedule of upcoming events including the dates for our spring virtual and summer conferences.

Program Improvements Coming in 2025

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the recent program improvements survey! Based on the responses to the survey, as well as input from office hours discussions and items reported through email and support tickets, we are working to identify which improvements will have the greatest impact on enhancing Texas College Bridge. We will share specific details as they become available.

The planned areas of improvement are focused on making it easier to grade and access essays, proactively identifying and addressing students who are not using the platform with fidelity, and improving reporting—both by enhancing the security of student data and enhancing and expanding reporting outputs.

Update on October Math Audit

In October, we conducted a math audit to ensure the high completion rates of TCB math were obtained with fidelity and to help us understand what security changes need to be made to the EdReady platform.

A total of 155 districts participated in the audit. After reviewing documentation and having 1:1 conversations with districts, we found that the majority of TCB math completions were valid.   We also found that most districts take students off the EdReady platform and teach them the math topics that are most challenging. In addition, quite a few districts offer small group tutoring. These types of actions are wonderful and tend to lead to a lower amount of time spent in the study materials.

Based on the results of the audit, there were a few students that had to have their certificates revoked for improper use of outside resources, but that was clearly not the case for the vast majority. We appreciate everyone's willingness to help our students and ensure they are truly college ready after completing the courses.
