January News for Our Teachers

Happy New Year from Texas College Bridge!

In this month’s newsletter, we are providing more information about some of the improvements we have planned for this year, along with a schedule of upcoming events including the dates for our summer conference.

Program Improvements Coming in 2025

Thank you to everyone who provided feedback on the recent program improvements survey! Based on the responses to the survey, as well as input from office hours discussions and items reported through email and support tickets, we are working to identify which improvements will have the greatest impact on enhancing Texas College Bridge. We will share specific details as they become available.

The planned areas of improvement are focused on making it easier to grade and access essays, proactively identifying and addressing students who are not using the platform with fidelity, and improving reporting—both by enhancing the security of student data and enhancing and expanding reporting outputs.

We will be offering extended office hours this spring to help with technical issues, especially for accessing/grading the essay assignment.  You can find the dates and link to join HERE.

EdReady Help:

Essay Information:

English instructors must assign, grade, and post the essay grade in EdReady.   Essay details can be found in the help center HERE.

If you do not see an essay assignment to grade via the notifications, you are still able to view submitted essays. Instructions on how to view essays are available HERE.

Student Reminders:

Registration:  Students should only create ONE account in EdReady.  If students are experiencing access issues, here are some links to help:

  • Student forgot username/password – HERE is the link to common issues to help you troubleshoot. The teacher and/or admin can reset the password for the student and look up their username.
  • Sections: Both students and teachers can edit a section if it has changed.
  • Student used a link for one subject, but needs to take both English and Math – District admin can add a subject/goal to an existing student account.
  • Student doesn’t get the email to confirm their account – Teachers and district admin can manually confirm the account for the student.
  • Student’s name must match their official school name.
  • Check for DOB accuracy
  • The inactivity reason can be added by the teacher for students no longer working in Texas College Bridge
  • Student working in public EdReady site vs. Texas College Bridge: If a student registered for an EdReady account through the public site, they are not working in Texas College Bridge. Make sure the URL contains TX.

Certificate of Completion:  Make sure students access their achievement in EdReady and create their GreenLight locker prior to leaving your class. They must use a personal email address in GreenLight. Help can be found on the resource tab:

  • Access Certificate of Achievement
  • Register for GreenLight Locker
  • Share your Certificate of Achievement with colleges
