Thank You to All Who Make Our Work Possible!
Environmental Resource Center (ERC)

In 2018, the ERC celebrated its 25th anniversary. It was a fantastic year! Our hearts are full of immense gratitude for each and every one of you who have believed in us, fought for us, and shared your passion and dedication with us, making the ERC what it is today. We have enjoyed every minute of this journey with you and look forward to many more years of collaboration and celebration - thank you!

Last year, we commissioned a short film to honor this special milestone and provide our supporters with another vehicle to see and feel the impact of our work. This film was produced by Dark to Light. Watch it here!

Additionally, we welcomed Mary Kim Deffe, Jane Mason, and Nina Jonas to the ERC Board and are eager to continue our work with them this year.

Winter Tracking

The tracking has been excellent his year! December's participants discovered tracks and signs of squirrels, ermines, snowshoe hares, martens, porcupines and more.

Ann begins the program at the ERC office (471 Washington Ave, Ketchum) introducing participants to our local winter animals, their life-histories, and their winter adaptations, while laying out some basics about tracking. Participants then head outside on a snowshoe north of Ketchum.

Did You Know: Recycling
An Update on Recycling in Blaine County

In December, the Idaho Mountain Express published a series of in-depth articles explaining the current status of recycling in Blaine County.

The recycling industry is dynamic and continues to evolve. Read this article to learn more about how various materials are recycled after leaving Blaine County. If you're curious about the global changes in the recycling industry and how it has affected Blaine County, click here

The ERC encourages you to remain diligent in your recycling practices and to remember that recycling is a last step you should take before throwing something away. Focus and energy should remain on reducing and reusing.
