An Elevation Grant has the potential to be a multi-year grant. Applications for grants of up to $50,000.00 for one year will be considered. Successful applicants may be eligible to receive an additional $50,000.00 in year two. Consideration for year-two funding will be based on the successful completion of outlined goals for year one and the Research Committee’s consideration of impact and potential of the project to advance in a meaningful way.

Brain Tumour Research Studentships:

Deadline To Apply: January 26, 2024 by 4pm ET



This program has been developed to accelerate brain tumour research and encourage young researchers to join the field. It gives students opportunities to gain experience in brain tumour research.Successful applicants will receive $10,000 over two years ($5,000 per summer).

Brain Tumour Research Fellowships:


We hope this fellowship will help improve the quality of life of patients and survivors, encourage young scientists to enter the field of brain tumour research, and accelerate studies leading to a cure of brain tumours.

Youth Education Awards:


Survivors of a pediatric brain tumour who are pursuing post-secondary education can now apply for our Youth Education Awards. This unique program aims to help young brain tumour survivors achieve their dreams through post-secondary education.

Project Title: “Prospective Quality-of-Life Study of Children Treated with Repeat Radiotherapy for Brain Tumours (QoL-ReRT)”

Children with recurrent brain tumours have few efficacious treatment options available. Repeat irradiation for such brain cancers is a potential therapeutic option but has not been adequately studied, and there is very limited data on quality of life after treatment for these children.

Project Title: “Evaluating the Impact of Dignity Therapy on Quality of Life in Patients with Brain Tumour: A Pilot Study”


Patients living with brain tumours commonly experience psychosocial distress related to symptom burden, loss of function, and poor or unpredictable prognoses.

Dignity therapy is a 2-session intervention that has been shown to help terminally ill patients regain their sense of self and create a sense of meaning.
