The Gardens remain open - or you may visit us online.
The Cathedral's Gardens and Grounds are one of the very few public gardens that have remained open throughout the pandemic.
Looking Back at a Year in the Cathedral Gardens
The pandemic challenged almost every aspect of our lives, but the Cathedral’s gardens and grounds did provide a respite from the difficulties we have all faced during the past year. The trees and flowers grew and bloomed, and the dedicated horticulture staff (with just a brief work stoppage in early spring) continued their work of tending to the Cathedral’s landscape.

We Will Not be Holding Flower Mart in May 2021
Our annual festival, and All Hallows Guild's largest fundraiser, is to be canceled for 2021 due to COVID-19 precautions.

Since 1939 we have held Flower Mart on the grounds of Washington National Cathedral as a benefit for the Cathedral's gardens and grounds.

Bishop's Garden Tour now available as a Podcast
The winter months are a quiet time in the garden, when the flowers are not in bloom, but it is an excellent time to take a look at some of the artifacts located throughout the Bishop's Garden.

You can download the first episode of our podcast for a narrated audio tour of the Garden. The Cathedral Gardens Podcast is available to listen or download via PodBean, Apple Podcasts, and Spotify.
