We have several exciting announcements below that we'd like to share about our Triathlon Series, the Honda Waterfront Run as well as Niagara Falls Barrelman.

Age Group World Championship Qualifying Events
Sprint Triathlon
We are pleased to offer two (2) chances to qualify for the 2025 World Championships at the Sprint Triathlon distance; firstly, at the Rose City (Welland) on Sunday, June 23rd, and secondly at the Barrie on Sunday, August 11th. Both races offer one (1) spot per age group and feature completely closed Bike courses.
Olympic Distance Triathlon
At our final race of the season in Lakeside, we’ll offer one (1) spot per age group for Standard Triathlon – what we call the Olympic Distance - on Sunday, September 8th. Come for the clean water, the single-loop Bike, and the rolling Run course.
Sprint Duathlon
On Sunday, June 23rd at our Rose City (Welland) Sprint, we are also pleased to offer one (1) spot per age group in our Sprint Duathlon. Come and race with us on a completely closed Bike and Run course!
International Distance Duathlon
Gravenhurst International Distance Duathlon on Saturday, June 8th will be the lone opportunity in Ontario to qualify for the Standard Duathlon where we’ll offer one (1) spot per age-group. Join us for a scenic and challenging course!
Long Course Triathlon
Celebrating its 39th edition on Sunday, July 28th, the K-Town (Kingston) Long Course Triathlon will offer one (1) spot per age-group and will be the only chance to qualify in Ontario at this distance. K-Town (Kingston) will also serve as the 2024 Provincial Long Course Championships as well as being part of Triathlon Ontario’s Long Course Series. Join us at Ontario’s Oldest Triathlon.
Swim Bike
We are finally pleased that on Saturday, August 24th in Wasaga Beach our Olympic Swim Bike will offer two (2) spots for Standard Distance Aquabike for the 2025
World Multisport Championship. Join us on the World’s Longest Freshwater Beach!
IMPORTANT - As a reminder, any athlete attempting to qualify for a spot to represent Canada at a World Championship in 2025 MUST be a Triathlon Ontario member and complete Triathlon Canada's Expression of Interest (EOI), before the event. For those looking to compete for a provincial title, they also must be a Triathlon Ontario member before the event.

NOTE - All World Championship spots are for five (5) year age-groups based on your age as of Dec 31st of 2025!
Triathlon Ontario Club Championship
Triathlon Ontario’s Club Championships returns to Wasaga Beach in 2024 on Saturday, August 24th. The competition divides sanctioned clubs into two divisions based on size – see HERE for more details. This offers clubs the chance to compete for prize money by earning points based on both finishing position and participation. The winning clubs will also get their names immortalized on Triathlon Ontario’s Crystal Cup.
Honda Waterfront Run
Looking for an event to get you ready for the 2024 Triathlon season? Then consider joining us on Sunday, June 2nd for the Honda Waterfront Run!
The event features both a Half Marathon, a 10km, and a 5km along the Barrie Waterfront. The courses run right by Transition for the Barrie Triathlon and then travel on many of the same roads and trails as both the Bike and Run Courses. The event also supports a variety of local and regional charities.

Niagara Falls Barrelman
We are proud to be celebrating 10 years since the inaugural Barrelman Niagara Falls all the way back in 2014! Since that time Barrelman has received glowing reviews from thousands of finishers and nearly all have recommended it as a great choice for a first race at the 70.3 distance.
For those in Ontario, as well as Quebec, Barrelman Niagara Falls is close to home, has a flat and fast course, and you’ll see lots of familiar faces to encourage you along the way. Add to that the numerous attractions for all manner of family fun in Niagara Falls and you’ve got the perfect combination for a fall goal event. Click HERE for more information.
Recently the Barrelman Swim Bike has been awarded one (1) per age group for 2025 World Multisport Championship in Long Course Aquabike and will also host the Long Course Provincial Championships in that discipline as well.
