 GO WITH SUCCESS!
Hello dear friends and clients,

What will 2019 bring? For us so far, it has brought our family together. We are enjoying a short vacation in La Quinta with kids and friends. We're so excited. Eric will be visiting from Norway to soak in some winter sunshine. Drake will be coming from Bigfork to join us, too. Brothers together! (Note John working hard with Heidi)!

2018 was a remarkable real estate year for the Flathead Valley and for me , as well. For the 4th year in a row, I am #1 in Bigfork and #3 in the Flathead Valley with 320 transactions over that period of time! In addition, I had 7 sales over $1,000,000 in the Bigfork area this year. In general, waterfront listings, both residential and land, spiked in August and held steady through the end of the year. I expect healthy sales to continue for 2019 with modest price increases depending on how the lending and interest situation plays out.

When we look a the number of listings in the Flathead, we are not seeing the listings that have been cancelled, expired or withdrawn. When we look at those numbers, we see a whole different picture. Click here for data . If you have recently cancelled or withdrawn your listing or it has expired, contact me. We'll get it listed and sold! My experience, consistent record and expertise will successfully guide you through the negotiation process toward the right price. Call, text or email me. We'll have dinner (I have an in with the local sushi place)!

See you soon. Cheers!  Denise
Testimonial
"Over the past 10 years, Denise Lang has worked with us on the sale of two homes and the purchase of two pieces of property. In every case she worked tirelessly and with the highest level of professionalism to close each deal (often doggedly helping overcome significant challenges). We have been impressed by Denise’s attention to the details and importantly we have enjoyed her company and her laugh. And yes, we would ask her to help us again." -- Judy and David

Denise's Book Corner...
Women speak an average of 20,000 words per day. Imagine if we were limited to 100 words a day. Vox is a modern dystopian novel set (in a frighteningly realistic manner) amid a society where women are fitted with "shock bracelets" that count how many words they speak. They are educated in the home arts and math and are not allowed to read, write or to sign. Stripped of all rights by the “pure movement,” a newly elected American government, one women, Jean McClellen, holds the key to freedom. Reminiscent of “A Handmaid’s Tale,” “1984” and even “The Stepford Wives,” I loved (and hated) the concept and I really enjoyed the linguistics science theme that ran underneath the story. I applaud authors who examine the role of women. Vox brings an important discussion to the surface regarding rights, equality, the role of religion in government and development of speech and language. I think you will find this book stimulating. I did!
Denise's Kitchen Corner...Old-fashioned Chicken Noodle Soup
I made this yesterday. It was delicious. Add more lemon to brighten the flavor.
INGREDIENTS
  • 16 cups canned low-salt chicken broth
  • 1- 3 1/2-pound chicken, cut into 8 pieces
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 2 carrots, peeled, thinly sliced
  • 2 celery stalks, sliced
  • 2 tablespoons (1/4 stick) butter
  • 1 cup sliced mushrooms
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 8 ounces dried wide egg noodles
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped tender herbs such as dill or parsley
PREPARATION
  1. Combine chicken broth and chicken in heavy large pot. Bring to boil. Reduce heat; cover partially and simmer until chicken is cooked through, about 20 minutes. Using tongs, transfer chicken to large bowl. Cool chicken and broth slightly. Discard skin and bones from chicken. Cut chicken meat into bite-size pieces and reserve. Spoon fat off top of chicken broth.
  2. Return broth to simmer. Add onion, carrots and celery. Simmer until vegetables soften, about 8 minutes. (Can be prepared 1 day ahead. Cover chicken meat and broth separately and refrigerate. Bring broth to boil before continuing.)
  3. Melt 2 tablespoons butter in heavy large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms and sauté until beginning to brown, about 5 minutes. Stir in lemon juice. Add mushrooms to broth; stir in noodles, herbs, and reserved chicken. Simmer until noodles are tender, about 5 minutes. Season soup to taste with salt and pepper.
