✨ A New Year, An Honest Reset

January often feels like a fresh start — a clean slate, new energy, new goals. But before moving forward, I want to acknowledge something directly.

I didn’t send a December newsletter.

That wasn’t an oversight, and it wasn’t forgotten. It was a choice — one made with intention and care.

We lost my dad in July, and this past holiday season was our first without him. Grief doesn’t follow a timeline, and it doesn’t pause just because the calendar says it’s time to celebrate. The holidays brought moments of reflection, heaviness, gratitude, and deep missing — often all at once.

And in that season, I let some things go.

I didn’t do family photos.

I didn’t send holiday cards.

I didn’t put lights on the outside of the house.

We put up the tree — and that was enough.

At the same time, life didn’t slow down. I was closing out the year professionally, supporting my family, and navigating some unexpected challenges with Logan. Like many parents and caregivers, I was carrying a lot — emotionally, mentally, and logistically.

My capacity was stretched. And instead of pushing through out of habit or obligation, I chose to pause this newsletter rather than force it.

Not because it didn’t matter.

Not because you didn’t matter.

But because honoring grief, family, and what mattered most did.

That pause wasn’t a failure or a setback. It was information. It reminded me that simplifying is sometimes the healthiest choice, that rest is not quitting, and that presence matters more than performance.

That decision shaped how I’m stepping into this new year — with more awareness, more honesty, and a deeper commitment to showing up intentionally, rather than automatically.

Thank you for your patience, your understanding, and for allowing space for the quieter seasons, too.

✨ My Word of the Year: INTENTIONAL

This word didn’t come lightly.

Intentional doesn’t mean I’m slowing down.

It doesn’t mean I care less.

It means I’m done operating on autopilot.

Being intentional means:

• choosing where my time and energy go

• saying yes with clarity — and no without guilt

• protecting my capacity so I can show up fully

• doing fewer things, but the right things

I’ve learned that good intentions aren’t enough.

Boundaries matter. Alignment matters. Follow-through matters.

If it doesn’t align with my priorities or protect my energy, it’s a no.

And that no makes room for better yeses.

2026 isn’t about doing more.

It’s about doing what matters — on purpose.

💛 Feature: Living With Intention (Not Perfection)

Most of us spend our days in reaction mode — managing responsibilities, appointments, expectations, and the emotional weight that comes with caregiving, leadership, and everyday life. It’s easy to move from one thing to the next without ever pausing to ask if it’s actually aligned.

Intentional living isn’t about control.

It isn’t about doing more or getting it “right.”

It’s about choice.

As I move into this year, these are the reminders I’m carrying with me:

• You don’t have to do everything — just what truly matters

• Rest isn’t quitting; it’s how we refuel

• Boundaries protect relationships, not damage them

• Slowing down can be a strength, not a setback

Intentionality doesn’t mean perfection. It means having something to return to when things feel loud, heavy, or overwhelming — a way to re-center and move forward with clarity instead of pressure.

This is the pace I’m choosing this year.
