As temperatures continue to drop, we are distributing winter wear—including coats, hats, scarves, gloves and mittens—for neighbors of all ages. Thanks to your generosity, we’ve already given away more than 1,600 coats, helping families stay warm this season. Many local businesses across the area are advertising and hosting coat collections on our behalf and delivering donations directly to our Pantry. Retailer Eddie Bauer generously donated dozens of brand-new coats!

Last day to donate at The Pantry is January 29.

Director’s Message

This year, the Human Needs Food Pantry marks 44 years of serving people in need. Our mission that began in a small church helping a few families now serves thousands of people each year. One thing has never changed: we only exist because of our dedicated volunteers and generous donors. As we enter 2026, we do so with deep gratitude and hope for the future. Thank you for your time, resources, and unwavering commitment. Together, let’s continue to fight food insecurity.

Sixteen-year old Grace is continuing her family’s tradition of collecting new socks for those in need and she delivered a stellar surprise to us at our December Saturday donation day: One thousand pairs of brand new socks! 1,000!! Go Grace!

She started in October and put collection bins outside her house, school and church and also put fliers around her neighborhood and online.

“Everyone has been so generous,” Grace tells us. Her mom, Judy, says this donation is about three times larger than when her sons collected in previous years. Thank you to the Rodgers family and their neighbors, friends and classmates and staff at Mount St. Dominic Academy for their collective generosity!

In honor of their son’s impending marriage, Mary and Joe Emanuelli hosted an engagement celebration for Peter Emanuelli and Julia McKenna. In lieu of gifts, the family invited guests to make a donation to The Pantry.

What a generous and meaningful way to begin their life together! Thank you, Peter and Julia.

The Pre-K class at Congregation Shomrei Emunah bundled up on a frigid day in late December to personally deliver brand new toys and games. For these young students, this was a real-world lesson on the concept of kindness. They were very helpful in unloading the toys and we are so proud of their efforts. Thank you to the teacher who helped purchase the gifts and the teacher who matched the collection with a monetary donation to The Pantry. These sure are little ones with big hearts!

Next Saturday donation day is February 14.

We are only collecting fall and winter clothes for the next few months. Visit us on the second Saturday of every month to drop off your donations, including non-perishable food, diapers and small household items.
