January 2019

Happy New Year!

At Naramata Centre, we are busy preparing for our upcoming seasons and getting ready to register participants for programs and accommodations next week. We are hiring young adults for summer leadership, warming up our registration system, and getting the Centre spruced up for your arrival! We hope to see you at the Centre in 2019!

Apply Now - Young Adult Summer Leaders
Naramata Centre is now hiring young adult leaders for summer 2019. If you are between the ages of 18 and 30, this could be a perfect opportunity for you!

Would you like to have fun while living and working in community? Work in a collaborative, safe and inclusive environment on the shores of Lake Okanagan, where we encourage you to be authentically yourself? Hone your leadership skills and develop new ones?

Youth and young adult leadership development is an integral part of  Naramata Centre's mission in action. Our Young Adult Summer Leaders have opportunities to learn and grow in a paid live-in work setting. Through direct training, mentorship, and supported opportunities to lead, Young Adult Summer Leaders will experience a range of functions and aspects of life at the Centre, while learning more about their own leadership and gifts.

2019 Programs
This year the theme for Naramata Centre is: Nourishing Mind, Body and Spirit. Our Program Manager, Charmaine Pearce, has had a busy fall and winter soliciting program ideas, selecting a wonderful variety of programs from the proposals submitted, and then creating the 2019 program calendars. As a result, Naramata Centre will offer an amazing array of program options for you to choose from again this year!

We are offering programs for children, youth, adults, elders and multi-generational groups, including the following experiences and more:
  • Programs for children each week.
  • An array of music programs (e.g., singing, guitar, ukulele, choirs, gospel jazz band).
  • Movement options (e.g., yoga, tai chi, Feldenkrais, dance).
  • Spiritual activities (e.g., Soul Collage, Contracting with Mystery, Sacred Space, Wild Church, Spiritual Eldering).
  • Arts/creative programs (e.g., pottery, play with clay, spaghetti engineering, watercolours, canning).
The detailed program booklet with full descriptions of each program is available here. Enjoy perusing the selections available and choose from the multitude of options. You can also visit our website and check out the program calendars by season. Click here for Winter / Spring , here for Summer and here for   Fall.

Registration opens February 4 at 9 a.m.
Our 2019 program and accommodation registration will open Monday, February 4 at 9 a.m. PST (10 a.m. MST).

Watch for an email that morning providing a link to register. We are again using Retreat Guru to register for programs and accommodations, so if you registered last year it will be familiar to you.

Read all about  our programs  ahead of time, so you are ready to choose your week(s) and programs once you are in the registration system.
