Guest Attendance Policy
Our Chamber works to provide a wide variety of programs to benefit our members each and every year – typically over 100 events and programs! We encourage our members to bring guests and business people that are prospective members to learn about the Chamber and get a first-hand experience of how they would benefit by being a member.

To respect and honor our members' investment, and because our programs are designed for our members, our policy is that guests can attend two events within the year. After that, we hope they find value in our Eden Prairie Chamber of Commerce and choose to join.

A Message from the President of the Minnesota Chamber
Revitalized Chamber Foundation focuses on developing state’s economy

By Doug Loon

On Dec. 14, 1908, a group of employers from various industries and corners of the state came together on Robert Street in St. Paul. Over lunch, they discussed their successes and challenges, and conversation evolved to the agenda of the upcoming legislative session. They saw firsthand the effect that policy had on their ability to do business: to move goods and services, and to provide a quality of life for their employees. Leaning on their shared experiences at the local level, they decided the statewide business community needed a voice – a collective voice – at the Capitol.
And the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce was born.
For the last 110 years, the chamber has advocated tirelessly on behalf of our members. Today, we represent more than 2,300 companies and their more than half a million employees. Our members represent every industry and size of business from those with just a few employees to many of the state’s Fortune 500 employers. The companies drive growth in every corner of the state.
We take pride – we consider it our responsibility – to represent our members and their employees at the Capitol. Our influence is even stronger through local chambers that constitute the Minnesota Chamber Federation.
Moreover, we provide a vision for Minnesota’s economy beyond each individual legislative session: a future for business that improves the lives of all Minnesotans. We renew that commitment as we refresh our focus on the Minnesota Chamber Foundation.
Since 1983, the foundation has helped chamber members and state leaders to better understand and grow our economy. In spring 2018, we announced the Center for Workforce Solutions, a first-of-its-kind in Minnesota business-led initiative to solve critical workforce needs, so businesses can stay and grow in the state.
Our renewed Chamber Foundation is accompanied by the launching of Vision 2030, a 10-year projection of opportunities for our economy to change and grow. During the coming year, Vision 2030 will lay out a common road-map – a guide – for strategic public affairs and private-sector actions that will help our state’s economy to change and grow.
Vision 2030 is a perfect complement to our Minnesota Business Benchmarks, an annual report produced by the Minnesota Chamber and our Chamber Federation partners that shows how Minnesota ranks on key economic indicators compared with other states.
We are thrilled that Susan Marvin, chair of Marvin Windows and Doors, Inc., will lead our Chamber Foundation Board of Directors. Her experience in leading a four-generation, family-owned company, as well as serving as a past chair of the Minnesota Chamber Board, makes her well poised to lead the revitalized foundation. Her business acumen and her keen interest and involvement in building a stronger business community are the perfect combination of skills and talent.
Understanding Minnesota’s economy is key to its long-term success. The Minnesota Chamber Foundation is poised to play a critical role in strengthening the business environment to improve the lives of all Minnesotans through research, programs and leadership development.
We look forward to building on our century-long partnership with local chambers of commerce and realizing a better economic future with all Minnesotans.
Doug Loon is president of the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce – .
