Happy New Year St Philip families! We hope you all are enjoying your break! We are very excited to get back into school and our normal routines. I am sure you all feel the same way. We can't wait to hear about all of your adventures over break. I hope that 2026 has treated everyone well so far and this is the best year yet for all our families. We do not have many things planned for this month. We will be taking time to get the kiddos back into the routine of leaving you and coming to school. It may be a hard transition for some of our kiddos to start back to school. Please remember they have been home for a while so the tears may be back but we are happy to take pictures or phone calls if drop offs are hard. We have been working on registration and will be sending out emails soon confirming days requested for next year. If you missed turning in your registration please send it in as soon as possible to get your spot. Registration is open to the public now!

UPK for PRE-K STUDENTS ONLY

Families with students in our Pre-K classes (4-5 years old) for next year 2026-2027 our UPK links are up. As long as your student is still 4 years old by October 1st you qualify for state funds to help your tuition. You will need to fill out the links below to receive your funds. As of now this program is still open and is still available. Should anything change I will let you know. Emails will be sent out next week if you forgot how many days you enrolled your child in along with the link for those days.

Snow Days and Delayed Starts

If Jeffco calls a snow day then St Philip ELC has a snow day as well. If Jeffco calls a 2 hour delayed start St Philip ELC takes a 1 hour delayed start. If we have a delay our school hours are 10:30am - 1:30pm. We will send out emails, text messages and post it on Facebook also look for information on the news channels for Jefferson County Public Schools.

Outside time and colder temperatures

This is the time of year the weather changes and we start to see more cold temperatures. Please remember we will take the kiddos out everyday as long as it is 32* or warmer Please send in snow boots, coats, gloves and hats when snow is on the ground. If all students in the class do not have the correct winter gear the class may not be able to go outside. Please make sure to label all your kiddos things so we can make sure all the gear goes home with the right child.

We will have a Fire Drill on Friday, January 16, 2026. We will be using the alarm. We hope the weather will cooperate with us. If the weather is not conducive to a fire drill we will push it off to the next week.

Giving Tree Donations

A huge THANK YOU to ALL the families that participated in the Giving Tree fundraiser for classrooms! The students and teachers appreciate all the items you donated to freshen up their classrooms! Please remember you can always donate your gently used toys to our school for classrooms to use!!

Art Show

This year our Art Show is The Beauty of the Earth! Classes will be making art projects with flowers, landscapes, insects and nature out of different kinds of materials. The projects will be available for parents to purchase first. Parents will have from Wednesday, February 11th - Friday, February 13th to purchase your child's artwork before it is open to church members on Sunday, February 15th. If you do not purchase your child's artwork before Sunday, February 15th then you may receive a duplicate project instead of their original artwork. This fundraiser will end our Week of Giving fundraiser. Please talk to or email Amy if you have any question! The St Philip ELC staff and students really enjoyed making these projects last year and hope this year is just as fun!!!

Week of Giving will be February 9th - 13th

More information to come! We have added several fun rewards for meeting $$ goals!!

Don't forget about our ongoing fundraiser that will run through the rest of the school year—and make your gift-giving easy and convenient! Through RaiseRight, you can purchase gift cards for everyday shopping or special occasions, and a percentage of every purchase will be donated back to SPELC. It’s a simple way to support our school while doing what you already do—shopping and gifting.

Whether you use the cards for your own purchases (like weekly groceries) or as gifts for the holidays, birthdays, or other celebrations, every order helps SPELC. It’s convenient, and it works!

Sharing with Sheridan

On Tuesday, Dec. 23 our festive volunteers welcomed just 94 families (268 neighbors) to our abundant distribution. We held a distribution on Tuesday December 30 in advance of the New Year's holiday. Due to the overwhelming, generous donations we've received over the past many weeks we are well-stocked and lack nothing for the upcoming distribution.
