The HPG Chamber is proud to partner with Prince George County High School, Hopewell High School, and Rowanty to offer a job fair in March at the Prince George Central Wellness Center. The fair will feature employers in manufacturing, logistics, skilled trades, and construction. This job fair is hoping to convey the nature of entry level jobs, as well as career potential, things that will prevent applicants from getting interviews, and the importance of work experience. Member Shout Out:
Special thanks to
Lin Jarratt Heating and Air Conditioning
and Dale Barber (Harlan Construction-Retired) for taking the time to meet with us to help us find a persistent roof leak while we installed an aluminum cap on the roof parapet which had nothing to do with HVAC!
Special thanks to Paul May, IT Manager at
ITAC
for a great consult on our mandatory upgrade to Windows 10; thanks to him we are getting efficiency gains with a modest expenditure.

Pro tip #34: Use photos with your listing.
We cannot stress enough how important it is to have quality imagery attached to your listing. Whether on your website, Facebook page, or your Google listing, you need good photos. If you don't have any images, or your images are poor quality and don't accurately reflect what you do, your product, or your space, customers will choose someone else that does. Most smart phones take good photos these days, but, if you are not comfortable doing it yourself, hire a local photographer that can. Members
J. Carraway Media
and
Southern Sharp Photography
would be happy to help. It's worth the investment!

Legislative Alert:
We are closely following
SB 861
that seeks to address group health benefit plans; bonafide associations; benefits consortium. Many of you noticed the recent changes to Federal Legislation in hopes that the chamber could help with 401 K Plans and Health Insurance. Martha Burton, Crater Planning District Commission, keeps us up to date on bills that are of interest to our members. She issues a report each week while the legislature is in session. If you would like those reports request them from
