4-H Baking Science Class
Bakery Science and Management student, Shelby VenJohn, led a 4-H Baking Science Class in Sedgwick County, Kansas.

IGP Institute Courses
The IGP Institute kicked off 2019 hosting four on-site courses and five distance education courses.

Awards and Recognitions
Kansas Corn Collegiate Academy
Milling Science and Management student, Mardi Traskowsky, was chosen for this year's Kansas Collegiate Corn Academy .

The academy gives college students the opportunity to dive deeper into the corn industry, providing insights into the opportunities and hurdles that lie ahead of the corn industry and how their future career paths may be impacted.
McNair Scholars Program
Bakery Science and Management student, Janae Brown, was selected for the 24th cohort of the McNair Scholars Program .

In preparation for graduate school, scholars will complete a research internship under a faculty mentor, write an article-length project and abstract, present their research, and participate in weekly seminars to prepare graduate applications and explore topics in professionalism.
Alumni Spotlight
Ashley Anderson works in product development and research for Weston Foods where she manages the creation of new products. She works with customers such as Dunkin' Donuts, Wal-Mart, Dillon's, Applebee's, Kroger and Casey's to name a few.

Looking back on her time at K-State, Anderson says she found Bake Science I and II to be the most beneficial to her career. "It really establishes a strong foundation of ingredient knowledge, functionalities, and interactions."
