Happy New Year! We are [now more than] two weeks in to our resolutions (if you make them). Personally, I have always been a goal setter-adding, evaluating, revising all year long. Sometimes, I succeed. Other times, I let go.
This year we have team goals for the Air Force Marathon [and associated events], and I have separate Director goals. First goal: I want to connect with our participants on a personal level. With a large-scale event, that proves a challenge. However, reaching out through the blog is a start. You will hear from me at the beginning of each month. The topics will vary. Some will be personal, a few about running, and others will be fun and random.
My foray into running began in 2008 while I was working as a barista with Starbucks. Our store was a sponsor for the Air Force Marathon. Because of this, I was able to watch so many participants cross the finish line. I knew right then I, too, wanted to do the same! The following year I crossed my first half marathon finish in May and then the coveted finish line at Air Force Marathon in September. Fast forward a few years to 2011. My mom passed away from cancer. I was in my late 20’s and my perspective on life as a whole shifted completely. One of my mom’s friends made an in-kind gift to the local university and my dad and I decided we wanted to grow that scholarship to be on-going. SEA, AIR, & SPACE CHALLENGE IS BACK! |

Earn an American made Sea, Air, & Space Challenge medal (design coming soon!) by completing any distance race offered in person, virtually or a combination of the two at each of the three race events.

For $35, sign up for the 2023 Sea, Air, & Space Challenge by visiting here.
- Runners must also separately register for and participate in one race of any distance at all three participating events: the Coast Guard Marathon, Air Force Marathon, and Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler.
- Virtual options are available for all races at all three participating events.
- Challenge medals will be shipped upon completion of all three of the 2023 events.
- Domestic, FPO, APO, DPO shipping is included. International shipping is an additional $20. Please add international shipping as an item to your order if your address is outside of the United States.
- Registration is open through February 19 for the in-person Coast Guard Marathon or March 3 for the virtual Coast Guard Marathon and Sea, Air, & Space Challenge.

Can't make it to Ohio the third weekend of September? We have you covered! Join us from afar and complete one of the virtual race distances any day in S eptember! We offer the marathon, half marathon, 10K, and 5K in the virtual format where you may walk, run, or walk/run your full distance wherever you would like. Please note the 2023 official race shirt, race bib, and finisher’s medal for the virtual event will all be the same design and not specify the distance completed.

HISTORY & HERITAGE RACE SERIES |

The second featured aircraft of the 3rd Annual History & Heritage Race Series will be announced February 1st! Each registered participant will receive a finisher's medal, commemorative patch, and informational card portraying the featured aircraft. Learn more and register for your next race here.
The History & Heritage Race Series powered by the Air Force Marathon features historical aircraft in order to begin to highlight all of the great aircraft that have shaped the U.S. Air Force’s air power throughout history! There will be a total of six aircraft featured in 2023 with each aircraft revealed one at a time.
The History & Heritage Race Series is a virtual race series which allows participants from all over the world to participate right from their home. You have the option to choose to participate in the marathon, half marathon, 10K, or 5K.

SPACE FORCE T-MINUS 10-MILER |

Congratulations to everyone who completed the inaugural Space Force T-Minus 10-Miler whether in person at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station or virtually from afar! We had a blast celebrating the third birthday of the United States Space Force. Age group awards and virtual packages have all been shipped out. You should receive an email with tracking information.

The Blue Streak Time Trial 10-mile loop course takes cyclists on a scenic route around Wright-Patterson Air Force Base the second Tuesday of each month from April through October.
Registration for the 25th Annual Blue Streak Time Trial opens Tuesday, March 1 for the first event of the 2023 season scheduled for Tuesday, April 11. A limited number of bundle registrations will also be available for all seven events (April-October). All Blue Streak Time Trial events are open to the public.
We look forward to sharing one of the best and most safe cycling events in the region with cyclists of all talent levels from all over the Miami Valley and beyond!
