The Emory ARISE (At-Risk Information, Support, and Evaluation) for ALS Clinic is a new clinical offering for adults who are at risk or known carriers of a genetic variant known to cause an increased risk for ALS.

What we Offer

During this clinic, you will have the opportunity to engage in a clinical appointment with Emory ALS personnel to

Have your questions answered
Receive support
Discuss your health risks
Develop a personalized health plan
Learn about advances in the field and how they potentially apply to you

The clinic will also offer an optional lunchtime educational session about:

Updates on ALS Genetics Research
Role of Genetic Counseling

Please plan to be at Emory for several hours to allow for all appointments and information sessions. Note that the visit will be documented in the medical record and billed to your health insurance as a routine clinic visit.

Consider donating equipment or supplies to ALS United. ALS United partners with Emory ALS Center to help provide equipment when Emory ALS Center’s patients are unable to obtain it on their own. ALS United has the Ricky P. Sweat ALS Equipment Loan & Assistive Technology Program, which is made possible in part because of equipment donations received from families who understand the difference these devices make.
