Frilling Named to TN Chamber Board of Directors
NASHVILLE – For 2019, the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry has announced 10 new appointments to its 54-member board of directors. The appointments represent all three grand divisions and are appointed for a three-year term. The Tennessee Chamber is one of Tennessee’s oldest and most prominent statewide business trade associations and also serves as the Tennessee Manufacturers Association. The Tennessee Chamber board of directors is the governing body of the Tennessee Chamber and provides significant input to the Chamber’s annual legislative and policy agenda that guide the work of the business advocacy group.

Larry Combs, Chairman of the Tennessee Chamber Board of Directors noted, “We are thrilled to appoint such a tremendous group of business leaders to the Tennessee Chamber Board that represents a variety of industries across our great state.” Bradley Jackson, Tennessee Chamber President and CEO, noted, “Our incoming board appointments are the perfect blend of business leaders who know both politics and business issues and will contribute significantly to our growth and advocacy. We are thrilled to announce such a distinguished group.”

Excel Boats To Locate Manufacturing Plant In Union City; 175 Jobs In Future
"Union City, Tenn .—Union City and Obion County officials gathered this morning to announce that the Excel Boats Co. will be investing $7.5M to open a manufacturing plant with plans to employ 175 people over the next five years.

The company will be locating in the former Vanity Fair building at 601 Sherwood Drive in Union City.
At this morning’s announcement, J. Paul Jackson, Business Operations Manager of Excel Boats said, “We’re delighted to land here…I think this was meant to be.”

Mike Ramsey is bringing History Alive in the Settlement at DPA
"...After 36 years of teaching at first Dyer and then Gibson County High School, Ramsey retired and moved from the classroom to a docent position at DPA. But now, he has literally donned another hat, and this one is made of coonskin. On most Saturday’s Ramsey will be working as an historical interpreter bringing real life adventures to the park’s Settlement. Featuring nearly a dozen structures, the Settlement is a collection of hand-hewn log buildings that resemble what one might have found in a mid-19 th century frontier settlement...."

John Fry Named Vice President of White & Associates Insurance 
UNION CITY, TN  – White & Associates Insurance today announced that John Fry has been named vice president of the White & Associates Insurance Personal Lines Division. Fry previously served as manager of the company’s Union City office.

In his new role, Fry will lead the company’s efforts to expand the technology and services provided to our personal lines clients. He will remain in Obion County and will continue to lead the agency in Union City.
