2019 Greene County Partnership Officers

The Greene County Partnership Board of Directors has approved the 2019 officers, executive committee members, and directors. Serving as officers of the Partnership will be Jennifer Keller, chairwoman; Bob Leonard, secretary/treasurer & past chair. Joining these officers as executive committee members are Chris Marsh, Frankie DeBusk, Tammy Albright, Mayor W.T. Daniels, Mayor Kevin Morrison, Bill Carroll, Scott Crawford, and Matt Garland .

New and Re-elected

Board Members

The Partnership welcomes newly elected and re-elected board members: Jessica Barnette, 1 Team Clinic LLC; Trey Youngblood, Farm Bureau Insurance; Craig Ray, John Deere Power Products; Everette Haynie, Donaldson Company; Kevin Reig, Vulcan Materials; who were elected to a three-year term, and Bob Leonard, Leonard & Associates; Jennifer Keller, First Tennessee Bank; Jerry Fortner, C &C Millwright; Gary Shelton, Apex Bank; and Shane Hite, Andrew Johnson Bank; who were elected to a second three-year term. Cory Malone, agriculture representative, has been appointed to fill that respective seat.

Annual Meeting

Mark your calendars now ... The Greene County Partnership's Annual Meeting is planned for Tuesday, March 12, at the General Morgan Inn & Conference Center from 5 to 7 p.m. Sponsorships, at a cost of $275, are available for the annual meeting. Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies' Classic

Congratulations to the Oak Ridge Lady Wildcats, winner of the 2018 Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies' Classic held December 26 - 29 at Hal Henard Gymnasium. We would like to take this opportunity to thank our tournament sponsor, Andrew Johnson Bank, and the many businesses and individuals that supported the 30 ^th Annual Andrew Johnson Bank Ladies' Classic. Presentations regarding the Youth Leadership and Youth Council programs will be made to area high schools in February, at which time applications will be made available to students. Applications are also available at the Greene County Partnership office and online and should be submitted by February 28. Selection criteria include school and community involvement, displayed leadership abilities and academic excellence. For more information contact Jennifer Wilder at the Partnership.

A crowd of more than 170 people attended the Annual Christmas Luncheon December 6 at First Presbyterian Church and enjoyed a performance by the Tusculum University Jazz Band.

Congratulations to Rhonda Humbert, the Green Coat Ambassador of the Quarter for December 2018 . Many thanks to Rhonda for all her hard work and dedication!

The 2019 Annual Partnership Legislative Breakfast has been scheduled for Friday, March 22, at the General Morgan Inn & Conference Center . Summers Taylor will again sponsor the event. Make plans now to take the opportunity to speak with state and local representatives and to hear their comments on pending legislation.

Tourism

The Tourism Department has announced they are bringing back the Antique Appraisal Fair & Show. On Saturday, March 23 from 9-4 p.m. at Greeneville High School, more than 40 antique dealers will be showcasing and selling their antique treasures and four certified appraisers will be assessing the value of antiques brought in by the public at a cost of $5 each. Admission is FREE. If you are interested in being a sponsor of the award winning Appraisal Fair at a cost of $250-$500 or would like to volunteer, please contact Tammy Kinser . Board Member of The Year

The Sports Council would like to congratulate Town of Greeneville Alderman Buddy Hawk for being awarded Board Member of the Year for 2018. Buddy has been involved in every site visit conducted by the Sports Council and is a true ambassador for our community. Thank you Buddy for your contribution to the Sports Council and to the true economic engine that is Sports Tourism.

NJCAA DIII World Series

Plans are already underway and the Sports Council executive committee has already been meeting on the 2019 National Junior College Athletic Association’s DIII World Series to take place at Pioneer Park May 24-30. Eight teams and 285 players from across the nation will converge on Greeneville and Tusculum to play five days straight of world champion caliber baseball. Sponsorships are available beginning at $500 up to $5,000. If you are interested in supporting this nationally recognized sports event that in 2018 brought in $2.1 million in economic impact, please contact Tammy Kinser .

Manufacturing Council

The Greene County Partnership Manufacturing Council will meet on Monday, January 28th at the City Garage Car Museum. Representatives of Greeneville Light & Power System and TVA will highlight programs that can help industries with sustainability goals, in-plant consultation services, and incentives for expansions/improvements.
