President, IREM Maryland Chapter
Hello,
I started my IREM journey a decade ago and subsequently received my CPM® designation in 2013. It is with great pleasure that I now write to you today as the appointed 2019 IREM Maryland Chapter President. Since my introduction to IREM, I have had the privilege and pleasure of associating myself with some exceptional people in the field of Real Estate from both Maryland and around the country (I look forward to meeting more of our global counterparts as IREM continues to expand its reach around the world). More importantly, through my continued involvement with our local Chapter, I have been able to broaden my field of knowledge and develop lasting relationships with other Members and Industry Partners. With that in mind, I would like to encourage/challenge you to involve yourself more with your local Chapter and experience the benefits that are available to those who want them. Your IREM experience is whatever you choose it be.
There are a number of ways to get involved that can work with anyone's schedule. To learn more I recommend checking your Chapter website, the IREM HQ website, or just get in contact with any one of your always-friendly IREM Maryland, Executive Council Members listed below.

Melissa Maynard CPM®, ARM® is a Regional Manager for The Donaldson Group whose portfolio consists of over 1800 multi-family apartment homes. She started off her career 17 years ago as a part time Leasing Consultant for The Realm Group and was promoted to a Property Manager within a year. From there she worked for companies such as UDR, AIMCO, Bozzuto, and BH Management. She became an Area Manager while working with Berger Rental Communities, then transitioned to a Regional Property Manager with The Donaldson Group. Her strengths are in repositioning distressed assets and preparing them for sale. She loves coaching struggling communities to become top performing communities. Melissa also enjoys the mentoring opportunities that this industry has to offer.
Melissa joined IREM in 2010 when she received her ARM® designation. She was recently awarded CPM® Candidate/ARM® of the year through IREM Maryland Chapter in 2018 and is one of IREMs newest CPM®'s. Melissa volunteered on the IYP (IREM Young Professionals) committee for IREM Maryland Chapter in 2018 and is currently volunteering on the education committee, assisting with course delivery. She attributes a lot of her successes to IREM through the relationships she has built with the members of her local chapter. Melissa stated, "I love IREM because you get out of it as much as you put in." She attended her first IREM conference last year in Hollywood, Florida and looks forward to future involvement in the upcoming years. Melissa's goals are to become an IREM instructor and to eventually serve as IREM Chapter President. She plans to continue her growth in property management with hopes to one day assume an executive role.
