VegMichigan's Strategic Plan

In addition to hosting nearly 100 events in 2025, VegMichigan has spent the past eight months developing a strategic plan to guide us into the future and grow our impact. Our mission is to inspire a cultural shift by introducing Michiganders to plant-based eating through positive experiences and great-tasting food. Our vision is to live in a Michigan where plant-based eating is widely embraced. We invite you to review our strategic plan and share your feedback. We are deeply grateful to our current 287 members, whose generosity made 2025 an incredible year. Together, we introduced thousands of Michiganders to plant-based eating through festivals, Meetups, pledge bags, food samples, and presentations. 80% of participants said they would eat more plant-based meals after participating in one of our programs. We are undertaking a membership drive to reach 400 members, which will allow us to connect with more communities across Michigan. Together, we can create a kinder, healthier, and more vibrant future. VegMichigan + Zingerman's Veganuary Meetups

We’re thrilled to partner again with Zingerman’s for our second Veganuary collaboration, bringing delicious, plant-based eating to one of Michigan’s most iconic food destinations. This January, Zingerman’s is featuring their crave-worthy cauliflower sandwich as a limited-time Sandwich of the Month—showcasing just how satisfying and creative plant-based sandwiches can be. We’re grateful to the Zingerman’s team for continuing to champion plant-forward options. Join us for one of our Zingerman's Meetups to give it a try.

As we work toward our goal of reaching 400 members this year, we’re making a small update to our monthly raffles, starting with our February newsletter. Everyone is still welcome to enter, but raffle prizes will now be awarded exclusively to current VegMichigan members as a way to express our gratitude for their support. If you’re not yet a member, we’d love for you to join us—your membership helps power programs that grow demand for plant-based foods across Michigan. See our Year-In-Review video.

Raffle Winners

Congratulations to the winners of last month's raffle. The answer was: Happy Holidays From VegMichigan. Cyndi Summers won a gift card to Honest John's, Karen Shaheen won a gift card to Sweetgreen, and Paula McKay won a Nutcase Vegan variety pack.

For this month's raffle, we're featuring three $25 e-gift cards to Zingerman's in Ann Arbor to support the vegan Sandwich of the Month. (See above story for details.) Raffle entries are due early this month, by Friday, January 9, to ensure you can use your gift card while the new sandwich is on the Veganuary menu! If you are unable to use the gift card in January, Zingerman's currently offers one vegan sandwich on its permanent menu (#246 Soy Vey!), or the card can be used for vegan items at Miss Kim or Zingerman's Bakehouse. To enter the raffle, solve the word scramble below and submit your answer using this form by Friday, January 9. Winners will be contacted via email on January 12. Good luck!
