Free Virtual Event with Dr. Joel Fuhrman

Kick off the new year with a focus on your health! Join us for a special live Zoom event with world-renowned physician Dr. Joel Fuhrman on Monday, January 9, from 7pm-8:15pm. Dr. Fuhrman will discuss The Nutritarian Diet, the focus of his most recent book, Eat for Life. Dr. Fuhrman is a board-certified family physician and seven-time New York Times best-selling author. He coined the term “Nutritarian” to describe a nutrient-dense eating style, designed to prevent cancer, slow aging, and extend lifespan. We will be raffling off five books. Add it to your calendar. No registration required.

Help VegMichigan Pass Out Plant-Based Samples

We're excited to partner with Beyond Meat to expand our food sampling programs at colleges around Michigan in 2023. We are looking for passionate, engaging volunteers who would like to give out free samples at UM, MSU, Wayne State, and other colleges. Also, if you would like to do this on a regular basis we can discuss a part-time hourly position. We will be sampling food both inside and outside. If you'd like to learn more about this opportunity, contact [email protected].

Join the Fight Against Factory Farming

Factory farming has been a 50-year experiment that has failed. It causes immense suffering to farm animals and severe environmental destruction. Our focus will remain promoting a plant-based diet, but VegMichigan will also start working to reduce and, hopefully, one day, end factory farming in Michigan. For the first time in 40 years, the Michigan house, senate, and governor have shown some openness to regulating factory farming. Michigan already has 300 factory farms, but big ag wants a lot more. We need to make it clear to Lansing that we do not want factory farms in Michigan. Many citizen groups and nonprofits are already working on this issue, but if more groups don't join the fight, factory farming will continue to expand. If you would like to work on this initiative, please contact [email protected].
