Tax Organizers

We are in the process of sending the 2021 tax organizers. Email and web organizers were sent out last week, and paper organizers were mailed this week.


If you do not receive your tax organizer by January 21st, please email Michelle Hermann at [email protected].

Ways to Get Information to Our Office

Portal - Upload your documentation to your client portal. You can access your portal from our website, jellisoncpa.com, or follow this link. Once you've logged in:

  • Select File Exchange
  • Open the "2021 Tax Return Documents" folder
  • Print your 2021 tax organizer and complete
  • Select Upload and upload your tax documentation and your completed tax organizer


Email - You can email your documentation to [email protected]Please note: We do not recommend this method if SSNs are present on documentation.


Mail - You can mail your documentation through UPS to 3560 Avon Street, Hartland, MI 48383 or through USPS to PO Box 555, Hartland, MI 48353 (USPS not recommended).


Drop off - Our office will remain open to our clients. In addition, beginning this week, our drop box will be available on the porch during office hours, for clients who choose not to enter the office.

Advance CTC Letters

The IRS is sending out Letter 6419 to taxpayers who received advance child tax credit payments in 2021. These letters include the amount of advance child tax credit payments taxpayers received and the number of qualifying children used to calculate the advance payments. This information must be accurately reported on your 2021 tax return. Therefore, it is essential that you provide this letter to us with your tax documentation. Any discrepancies in the information reported to the IRS will delay the processing of you return.

Important Dates

  • January 17th, 2022: Due date for 4th quarter 2021 estimates
  • January 24th, 2022: IRS opens for 1040 e-filing
  • March 15th, 2022: Due date for 1120s and 1065 returns

Reminder: Form 1099-NECs Are Due Soon!

1099’s are required for:

  • anyone (except corporations) to whom you have paid $600 or more in a calendar year for services, including rent.  


What information is needed from you:

  • W9 for each entity that a 1099 is required. If a W9 is not available, the following information is required if we do not already have it on file:
  • Legal name
  • Legal address
  • SSN or EIN
  • Amount paid in 2021


If you need our office to prepare 2021 1099-NECs, please provide the required information no later than January 14th.

2022 Mileage Rates

The 2022 standard mileage rates are:


  • 58.5 cents per mile driven for business use, up 2.5 cents from the rate for 2021,
  • 18 cents per mile driven for medical, or moving purposes for qualified active-duty members of the Armed Forces, up 2 cents from the rate for 2021 and
  • 14 cents per mile driven in service of charitable organizations; the rate is set by statute and remains unchanged from 2021.
