|
We have our bags packed, do you?
In the next two weeks we will be attending Fruit Logistica in Berlin, Germany and Zespri Momentum 2020 in Mount Maunganui, New Zealand!
Fruit Logistica (February 5-7)
You can find us with Fresh Produce Instruments in
Hall 1.2, Booth D-12.
We will have our line of Felix Instruments and would love to visit with you! Email
lfelix@felixinstruments.com
to set up a one-on-one meeting.
Zespri Momentum (February 13-14)
We are very excited to be hosting a new tech workshop entitled "
Fuzzy Data: Measuring Kiwi Dry Matter and Brix with NIR
" in which we will do a deep dive into how NIR is poised to transform the kiwi industry. We will have also be exhibiting and have the new Kiwi Quality Meter so attendees can try the new instrument out for themsleves. Email
strimble@cid-inc.com
to set up a one-on-one meeting.

SpectraVue: Leaf Spectrometer
A newly updated version of our Miniature Leaf Spectrometer, SpectraVue is a
powerful tool for breeding and analysis of plant health.
This instrument will
measure the transmission, absorption, and reflection of light by biological substances within a wide range of wavelengths that cover visible and Near Infra-Red (NIR) light. Users no longer need an additional tablet or computer, all indices and calculations will all happen on-board in this, hand-held, portable device. The new version will also include GPS technology to track where each measurement is taken as well as a brand new user interface.

Made in the Shade:
How 11 Research Studies Cleverly Use Canopy Analysis to Measure Crop & Forest Health
[WEBINAR RECORDING]
|
|
On January 23rd, s
pecial guest researchers Brendon Anthony of Colorado State University and Derek Godwin of Oregon State University, joined our application scientists Eric Munoz-Garcia and Galen George to review 11 studies that have used canopy analysis for everything from typhoon effects to pruning! Here is a quick look at some of what was be covered:
- How pruning and controlled-release fertilizer affect rejuvenation of Huanglongbing-affected Sweet Orange
- Using hemispherical photography to measure leaf area index, biomass, and yield in a cotton field
- What affects butterfly diversity in specific landscapes
- How a shade gradient filters tree functioning, grass composition, and biomass
- Levels of wet-canopy evaporation during large, high-intensity storms such as typhoons

New Year, New Decade, New Workshops!
|
As many people and companies do at this time of year, we have set some new goals including new product launches and finding better ways to serve our clients. One of the ways we are wanting to serve you better in the future is by being available to host workshops in your area. If there is an instrument of ours that you are interested in learning more about in person, please submit your location and instrument and we'll do our best to reach all areas with sufficient interest!
