Happy New Year, Elite Danceworks families! We hope everyone enjoyed a restful and refreshing winter break. We are so excited to welcome you back and kick off 2026 together as we head into an exciting new term at the studio.

Term Two begins January 3rd, 2026, and with that, our winter break has officially come to an end. We are ready to jump back into classes, routines, and all the joy that a new season of dance brings.

This newsletter includes everything you need to set your dancer up for success as we head into the new year, including important information and key dates. If you are new to the studio this term, welcome! We are so happy to have you join our dance family.

Please remember that our SZN NINE Year-End Recital will take place on May 30th, 2026 at the Georgian Theatre. Dancers will begin working on their recital routines in late January as we prepare for this exciting celebration that closes out the season. Just like our Holiday Gala, there will be two unique shows, and tickets will go on sale in April through Ticketpro (on-sale date to be announced). Additional details will be shared as we get closer, and we appreciate you keeping this important date on your calendar.

❄️ Inclement Weather Policy ❄️

The safety of our dancers, families, and teachers is always our top priority. During the winter months, classes may be canceled due to inclement weather or poor driving conditions.

Here’s how you’ll be notified: an email will be sent through our Parent Portal, so now is the perfect time to double-check that our messages aren’t landing in your junk or spam folder. Updates will also be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages.

A final decision will be made by 2:00pm at the latest on the day of the closure. Please note that classes are not made up for weather-related cancellations.

Thinking about taking your dance training to the next level?

Our Competitive Prep Program is designed for recreational dancers who are eager to explore the next level of training and are interested in transitioning into our competitive program. This program focuses on building strong technical foundations, performance quality, confidence, and classroom etiquette in a supportive and motivating environment.

Dancers will be introduced to the expectations of competitive training while continuing to grow their love for dance. This is the perfect opportunity for dancers to challenge themselves, refine their skills, and see if competitive dance is the right fit for them.

Competitive Prep will run June 1–22, every Monday evening.

Registration will open January 12 on our website.

🌟 Save the Date: SZN 10 Competitive Auditions 🌟

Mark your calendars! SZN 10 Competitive Auditions are happening Sunday, April 26th, 2026 — and we couldn’t be more excited to celebrate 10 seasons of dance excellence with you.

All dancers — new and returning — must audition. Auditions are not scary — they’re a fun, supportive opportunity to come together, dance, and show your passion. The audition will take place as a jazz class designed to highlight musicality, technique, and performance quality.

✨ Offering both Full-Time and Part-Time Competitive Team options, allowing dancers and families to choose the commitment level that best fits their goals, schedules, and passion for dance.

Audition Details

• Date: Sunday, April 26th, 2026
• Style: Jazz class
• Attire: Jazz attire
• Hair: Slick low bun with a middle part
• Registration Opens: February 1st

We’re so excited to welcome dancers into the studio each week! Here are a few helpful reminders to keep everything running smoothly:

Kindness Counts 💕

At Elite, we believe kindness is just as important as technique. We encourage our dancers and families to support one another, celebrate each other’s successes, and spread positivity in the studio and beyond. Together, we can create a safe, uplifting, and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome.

Studio Hours

• Open at 4:45pm Tuesdays & Wednesdays (Recreational Programs)
• Open at 8:45am Saturdays (Recreational Programs)
• Competitive program hours vary on Mondays & Thursdays

Office Hours

• Miss Ali will be at the front desk and happy to help:
• Tuesdays & Wednesdays: 4:45pm – 7:30pm
• Saturdays: 9:00am – 12:00pm

Arrival & Class Structure

• Please arrive 5 minutes before class so we can help your dancer get situated.
• All of our classes are independent (parents wait in the lobby), with the exception of our Parent & Tot classes.

Lobby & Safety

• Parents are not permitted past the lobby unless otherwise given permission.
• Please remove outdoor footwear if entering the lobby – many of our dancers are barefoot, and their safety is our top priority.
• Only water is permitted in water bottles inside the studio.
• Suggested dress code is always available on our website.

Parking

• The lot can get tight during peak hours. If your dancer is of a reasonable age, we encourage you to drop and leave. Extra parking is available on the  side of the building and around the back.
