Congratulations, you've been accepted to college!
There's nothing like the excitement of opening an acceptance letter or email to a college or university.
If you've been accepted at a few schools, there's no need to rush your decision about which one you are going to attend. You still have until May 1st, which is known as "College Decision Day".
Don't become enamored with a school before you've received ALL of your school responses, as you may get a better package from one school over another.
If you're not sure about which school to choose - or even if you think you're sure - attend Admitted Student Day events and use that experience as the tiebreaker.
Bear in mind that most schools will let you defer for one year (for whatever reason) and still receive the same merit/financial aid package. If you got waitlisted, take it as a "No". It's time to move on to your other great options that said "Yes"! Very few waitlisted applications convert to accepted status.
Once you decide on a school, send in your deposit and accept your aid package. Usually the deposit to hold your spot is anywhere from $200-$500. If you make that deposit and change your mind, you will NOT get your deposit back.
Students and their families who have been working with PCCI throughout the college application and admission process receive insight and guidance on how to evaluate the different aid proposals before committing. For families who did not, PCCI offers a one-time session to do a complete review. Contact us for more information if interested.
