Congratulations on your Crisis Prevention Certification, CDO Disability Resource Coordinator Angela Kelly!
Angela has recently completed 32 hours of training through the Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) and is now a certified instructor in Verbal Intervention, Trauma-Informed Care, Mental Health, and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). This certification enables Angela to provide evidence-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed training to equip teams with practical strategies for effectively managing challenging behaviors and fostering safer, more inclusive environments in CDO counties.
Through this training, staff can learn how to identify, respond to, and prevent low-risk crisis behaviors using verbal and non-verbal de-escalation techniques. The training also emphasizes understanding the impact of trauma, applying compassionate approaches to support individuals, and utilizing mental health frameworks to safely navigate crisis situations. Additionally, it offers valuable insights into the characteristics of autism and teaches proactive, tailored strategies to better communicate with and support individuals on the spectrum.
This training empowers organizations to create stronger, more inclusive support systems that meet the needs of those they serve. If you are interested in scheduling a session or learning more, please feel free to reach out! Together, we can build stronger, more effective support systems across our communities!"
