Thank You for Your Support in 2025!

As we welcome a new year, our staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who supported the Allegheny County Parks Foundation in 2025. Because of you, we were able to invest in projects that improve, conserve and restore the county parks for the benefit of everyone who visits them.

Whether you gave your time, made a donation, attended an event, or simply showed up to enjoy the parks, your support truly makes a difference.

As we look ahead in 2026, we’re excited to continue building on this momentum and welcome you back out into the parks for new projects, events and opportunities to get involved. From all of us on staff, we wish you a very happy New Year and look forward to another year of working together for the parks we all love.

Celebrating Our Volunteers

Our December blog post, Celebrating Our Volunteers, highlights the incredible people who gave their time, energy and love to your Allegheny County Parks in 2025. From planting trees to tackling invasive species, volunteers made a real and lasting impact throughout the county parks. This blog post shares both the numbers behind volunteer efforts and the meaningful, positive effects that volunteering brings to our community and the parks we all enjoy.

Whether you’ve volunteered before or are simply curious about how people give back to their parks, this blog post is an inspiring look at the power of community and the difference one person, or one team, can make.

Project Updates

Carol R. Brown Sculpture Garden Signage Coming Soon!

Exciting updates are coming to the Carol R. Brown Sculpture Garden! This spring, once the ground has thawed, permanent signage will be installed to enhance the visitor experience and bring the sculptures' stories to life. We’re currently in the final design phase and are thrilled to be creating signage that highlights the sculpture garden and its free, self-guided audio tour.

The new signage will include welcoming orientation and donor recognition, wayfinding through the garden, identification signs at each sculpture and Suffragist Grove interpretive and donor signage. Together, these elements will help visitors explore, learn and connect more deeply with this unique space. We can’t wait to share more as the project moves forward.

Recycle Your Tree in the Parks

Our friends at the Allegheny County Parks are continuing their annual Christmas Tree Recycling Program through January 18, 2026. Residents can drop off natural holiday trees at all nine county parks between 8:00 a.m. and dusk.

Please be sure all lights, decorations, tinsel and stands are removed before drop-off.

Trees will be mulched and reused throughout the county park system. Last year, more than 4,000 trees were recycled and turned into mulch that benefits parks across the county’s 12,000+ acres.

Ways to Support

Support Your Parks with a Monthly Contribution!

If one of your New Year’s resolutions is to give more to the causes you care about, we invite you to consider making a monthly recurring donation to the Allegheny County Parks Foundation in 2026. Monthly giving provides steady, reliable support that helps us plan ahead and complete more projects in your county parks throughout the year.

As a thank you for becoming a monthly supporter in January, all new monthly donors will receive a beautiful set of 9 Allegheny County Parks native plant notecards, celebrating the natural beauty found across your county parks. Sign up by January 31 to receive your gift and make a lasting impact all year long.
