The George Washington University (GW) Cancer Center recently welcomed 24 multidisciplinary health care teams from across the country to its inaugural TEAM (Together, Equitable, Accessible, Meaningful) Training Program. The two-and-a-half day program was the culmination of a multi-phase online and in-person education program intended to help individual health care organizations implement quality improvements regarding patient-provider communication, cultural sensitivity, health literacy and shared decision-making. Mandi Pratt-Chapman, associate center director for patient-centered initiatives and health equity at the GW Cancer Center, and Allison Harvey, MPH, CHES, senior manager for health care professional education, recently co-authored an article for Conquer Cancer Magazine on juggling the workplace and cancer. New Prostate Cancer Resources for Sexual and Gender Minority Patients

Sexual and gender minorities often have health needs that are not talked about. The GW Cancer Center, with funding from the Association of Oncology Social Work, recently created two prostate cancer fact sheets for men who have sex with men and transgender women to help address their unique health needs and concerns.
